OK, thanks for the figures, very interesting, want to collect some comparable values.toxicoh wrote:Glad to help:muzycian wrote:Yo toxicoh, i see you're on a 2 Ghz G5 PPC.toxicoh wrote:Nice work!
Today I put Luna Free in the Trash. It was a good friend this year.
May i ask: when you just play the demo song, how much cpu does it take on that machine?
FYI if give a single click on the cpu meter, it also shows the % value
The Demo.MuSession says 9% idle, 37% when running (It's really small, and hard for me to read..... Using 1440x900).
KraftGroove is 22% idle, 28% running
My own most worked on project with audio/VSTsynths/VST Effects/Musynth/MuVerb gives 30% idle, 33% running
Indeed.Everything has been working "fine" for me since the last few versions. The only thing I would change is how tracks work with automation. I understand the benefits of selecting targets for automation, but seperate automation tracks (like the demo) can eat up the available 8 quickly. Other hosts (I'm thinking GarageBand08) reveal automation on each instrument track underneath the audio/piano-roll. A different design, I know.
Note that MU.LAB Unlimited has an Unlimited amount of tracks, i'm sure you know that.
Yes, i also noticed it just after the 1.0 was out. Nothing dramatic, but of course i'll check this out. It's only on osx, the windows version doesn't have this issue, i assume it's a system specific compilation issue.Interesting! I've been clicking on the cpu meter several times just to watch it come/go. Now it's gone, and won't come back. Closing MuLab, and reopening fixed it. Clicking on/off repeatedly did it again. Is it the Skin or MuLab?

Well, I've been offline and out of the loop for almost a year and what happens in just a few days after I'm back? The first full release. Beautiful! (despite an unfortunate name change, but oh well)
I've been watching this for quite a while and have been using CMusic off and on and have really enjoyed the straightforward and clean and, well, almost "relaxing" tone and feel of it. All this while I was hoping that it would be soon, but I had no idea!
Congratulations, Jo! You've done some mighty fine work here, that much is certain. (love the new look too and I hope there will be more skins in the near future)
Here's the odd thing. I finally "settled" on getting myself another DAW, and it's on it's way to me.... so why is it that I can't help but really want MU.LAB?!?
-As a seperate issue: Jo, I'm interested in buying MU.LAB Unlimited for a good friend who has helped me quite a number of times with computer problems, how would I go about getting it for him as a gift? I pay you and you send him the link/licence? Or... or what? (I believe I'll be buying one for myself as well after all, so keep that in mind) Thanks.
You deserve this holiday, no doubt!

I'm happy you like it
Thanks to Calum for his beautiful skin design! Thanks Calum!
Well, best way is to 'sync' me when you purchase the User License for your friend: send me an email just before purchasing the license, and include your friend's full name and country.-As a seperate issue: Jo, I'm interested in buying MU.LAB Unlimited for a good friend who has helped me quite a number of times with computer problems, how would I go about getting it for him as a gift? Then when i receive the payment notification from Share It, i'll create a MU.LAB key for your friend. Then i can email that User License to you (so you can give it to him) or i can email it directly to your friend. You can choose that.
You deserve this holiday, no doubt!

thanks for the wicked freebie MU.LAB.
the only thing stopping me from buying/supporting this is the fact that it cannot do multitimbral plugs/multiout plugs?
for example, is it possible in MU.LAB to load up kontakt, have 4 instruments in the rack, each routed to a separate out as setup in kontakt and to a different rack? is it then also possible to create parts that target per channel of the same kontakt instance?

Ah, ok, now i saw you found it already.
And about the midi channels: right-click a part -> "Choose MIDI Channel".
Cheers

I just loaded up v1.0 of MU.LAB. I'd last played with LUNA pr8.4, so my reaction is: WOW! I've clearly got some learning to do. And the look is terrific. Everything thing carried forward feels LUNA-familiar but much more polished. I'm definitely looking forward to diving into this.

I can't play with MU lab yet because I haven't received my new user key so I keep using Luna PR8.4

No need to own hundreds of synths here, only two are enough d(*O*)b
