Midi is easy because you can pull up the sheet.
audio is another matter.
as I stated previously Power track pro has the
capacity to analyze both midi and audio and spit out an easy to read chord chart.
VST that analyses incoming chords?

I think I have the answer for you.Install MidiYoke, this will give you 8 virtual in and out midi ports.

then create a midi track in your DAW to send midi out (this is the Midi chord you want to analyze)
and then get the software below, which will take a midi port in and will show you the chord: (Ackord - the chord analyzer)

I use ableton, and this works like magic.
