Goooooood point.Squids wrote:If you register this SampleTank engine though you can pick out a free IK effect worth $399. (like AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, CSR or T-Racks). So... you might as well keep it for that reason alone!Spookyrockstar wrote:This seems awesome, but I already have the STank Engine.
Is it possible to give just this engine to someone? Let someone else register it in their name? It's probably somewhere in a EULA or something, but I'm not at home, thus was hoping I could get a quicker answer here!
Don't miss the Rare and Vintage GB!!!

Extended! Oh man, this is nuts.Squids wrote:Some delays on that, sorry. But it's coming. We also extended the group buy another week to give more time for deciding... although the more that join the lower the price! Am I to gather that you sampled those aforementioned presets from the Pink Floyd Prophet!?!

Yep! Some of them are in Sonik Synth 2. But the rest of them are in this! "Day after day, love turns grey..."bduffy wrote:Extended! Oh man, this is nuts.Squids wrote:Some delays on that, sorry. and now for more pics...
From the SampleTank Vintage Collection:

The Clavinet D6 is a funky keyboard instrument from Hohner. It was used by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, George Clinton and many others.

This cheesy but cool organ was used on a lot of 60's & 70's recordings.

There's a nice warm Suitcase 88 on the Vintage Collection as well as a few other sampled EPs.

Ricky 12 string! Used by many artists including Mike Rutherford of Genesis in the mid 70's.

The GR300 guitar synth! The one we sampled belonged to Lyle Workman (of Jellyfish, Sting, Beck...). It was a famous analog box used by guitarists such as Pat Metheny (that clarion lead sound in "Are You Going With Me") and Andy Summmers of The Police.

This RMI EP is a Tony Banks secret weapon because it not only was responsible for early Genesis creepy crawly sounds but it was also used as a phased organ sound.

Among several guitars in the Vintage Collection this 70's Les Paul Standard really sounds beefy! Great to run through AmpliTube 2!

A nice '62 P-Bass. A nice one to run through Ampeg SVX!

A Wurlitzer 200A electric piano.

Here are some pictures from Rare Instruments Vol. 1: Electronic!

The EMS VCS3 and Synthi AKS. As heard on Dark Side of the Moon and Who's Next!

Not an old telephone switchboard this is a rare Emu modular system!

This is an EML 200 modular synth.

If you look in the back there on the left you can see the Wurlitzer 140B TUBE Wurly Electric Piano. This had some bite to it. Very cool built-in distortion warmth from the tubes.

This is a very rare analog synth called the Gleeman Pentaphonic!

The bass player of The Doors? Ray's left hand. A Fender Keybass. We also sampled a Rheem Keebass that now belongs to Jon Brion.

One of the best sounding synths was the Oberheim SEM. So naturally 8 of them was pretty awesome...

This funky little Rhodes Stage EP had only 54 keys! Sounded great. Still does in this collection!

Here's some pics from Rare Instruments Vol. 2: Acoustic

This is an Indian Zither/Harp instrument called a Bandoura.

A very rare REAL calliope sample!

A Clavichord is like a harpsichord but has one string per key and it can actually BEND with "aftertouch"!

This instrument is a Claviola from Hohner. It is like a melodica but it has a deeper richer tone more like a cross between a harmonica and a clarinet! Very very rare and cool.

There are several Harmoniums on this collection as well as a Hurdy Gurdy. This one is from India.

Never under-estimate the haunting sound of a REAL antique musical box!

Squids,
I think I missed the boat last fall when you offered the Sample Tank / Sonik Synth deal. This seems like a great deal though and I am presently on the fence. Can you offer any insight to an amateur who wishes to emulate Tony Banks / Genesis prog sounds? Is the Vintage Collection something I should run with or should I wait for Sonik Synth 3 - which, as I read in another discussion group, is expected to have a lot of Genesis/Tony Banks keyboards?
Your advice is much appreciated.
Thanks.

I'd go with this one. Who knows when Sonik Synth 3 will be? That's all theoretical anyway that it will have a load of TB sounds in it. Probably but of course that won't be its main thing. This, however, is dedicated to Vintage so you have a nice selection of Genesis sounds in it such as the RMI, Arp ProSoloist, Electric Grand, Prophet 10... a good start and a great deal especially with getting a free IK AmpliTube (or other IK effect) with it! Basically for less than the price of a regular IK effect you get all of this so... this is not to miss. Really. We can't go backwards and offer this deal again. It's only because of the timing that we're able to do this in April. Once it's gone it's gone.JudBaird wrote:Squids,

Squids - If you would, please describe/summarize overlap with instruments already offered in SonicSynth2, Vintage Time Traveler, and SR Ethnic Instruments vol 14.
There are definitely unique instruments in the GB, but I do recognize some other instruments from these other collections.
