Wow, that tape delay alone, while only offering such few parameters, is just kickass. I want this as a separate plugin!

Never underestimate the power of marketing.
After watching the vids and seeing the sleek new VC GUI and added features, I was feeling pumped about getting a TI again and giving it another go. I actually dropped by Nova, popped a reboxed TI Desktop into my shopping cart, and was headed for checkout ("It's only $200 more than what I paid for a Snow last year, why not?").
Then I had one of those "Hold Your Horses, Bucko!" moments and said to myself, "Why did you spend all that money in the past year on that Quad Core, all these additional softsynths, upscale processing plugins, and NI Kore to organize the whole lot if you're just going to turn around and get another TI? What does the TI have on board that you don't already have a deeper version of in some specialized plugin?"
I pictured that stern looking pig in the public service commercial about saving money, repeated the mantra, "I don't need it," and backed away from the virtual store.
Access manage to make their synths so damned slick and sexy though that it's hard not to get tempted by Virus lust every now and again even when you're already well equipped and don't really need one. The refinements to the designs on the Desktop, Polar and Keyboard are gorgeous.

I know what you're saying, kind of. I think the point is for us TI and snow owners is that we get a kick-ass upgrade for absolutely free. Access rules and has great support!Vectorman wrote:Never underestimate the power of marketing.

I definately don't regret buying it...it's my midi controller, my favorite synth to design sounds on, and I like to just f**k around with it when I'm not using my daw. I thought about selling my virus a while back (when the us dollar was weak last summer, they were going for 3 grand new) but I'm glad I kept it.

Oh, absolutely...for anyone who already has a TI and uses it a lot, OS3 is like getting an uber-cool surprise Christmas present. I definitely don't mean to sound like I'm talking down the TI - when I had my Snow, I loved the sound of it and do regret parting with it at times. If I was starting a new setup from scratch and didn't already have so much invested in software, I would most likely have a TI at the center of it.I know what you're saying, kind of. Just comparing the warm fuzzy vibes in this thread to some of the more...how shall I say...bitter threads at KvR the moment. Definitely something in the old adage if you give love you get love.

Wow...
(...dare it ask if some of the parameters of these new fx be added to the mod matrix targets menu in the next rev of OS3 or is that looking the gift horse in the mouth?

With the audio in for the Control this is making it much easier to use the Ti as a DSP powered effects unit and sound mangler (with Atomizer) as much as a synth. The effects are really high quality too (the reverb alone easily up there with the best I've heard in software)

While I've learn (by experience!) that this *can* happen (so I always create a back up of both the factory and my user patchestoksin_losangeles wrote:Does anyone know if installing the OS3 will reset or erase patches?
That said- All my patches are stored in the computer and not on the TI hardware...so if you're concerned with user patches stored on the hardware, you may want to off load those for back up as well before installing the new OS (just to be safe)
I've had TI since v1.0.1 and while I've only had it installed a few hours, this is the MOST bestest upgrade I've seen. enjoy!

God I forgot why I stopped using the Virus software.
Everytime i load it it kills my Novation automap for some reason. Most bizarre for sure....They are on different USB ports.
Anyone any ideas?

Does anyone have an issue hitting the load button located on each part in Virus Control? Everytime I go to load or save a patch in VC on Logic, the mother f**ker crashes Logic. This started happening when I upgraded to 2.7.5 and is still there on 3.0.0
