right, but:jupiter8 wrote:But it's still not more than say the ARP 2600.brok landers wrote:.
however, to emulate the curtis 3320 vcf with all its nonelinearities, aswell as the osc's, plus the fm on the osc's and the filter requires a dramatic range of sampling frequency, as fm and ffm at very high base frequency is allowed ... nyquist has to be really high on those parts in order to avoid aliasing ...
also the mixer for the osc's was driven, when osc levels at max, which was a big part of why the pw modulation sounded so great, that has to be oversampled, too ...
1. while the arp 2600 wasn't exactly a pad monster, the matrix was for sure, so 12 voices are normal to be used ...
2. the arp emu uses way too much imo anyway ... not really comftable at all ...

When software synths allow recursive patching at audio rates, they tend to crash - or at least they don't react at all like analog hardware. I tested WoW and Arturia. I haven't tried the Arppe600va yet, but I'd be very surprised if it didn't do the same... assuming it doesn't secretly block such routing.brok landers wrote:what do you mean?Howard wrote:None of them work "properly".
To be fair, 1) I haven't tested the more recent versions, and 2) I don't expect any software that allows "wild" patching, with no restrictions, NOT to crash!

I second that Rhodes Chroma...I had both a Chroma and a Chroma expander w/midi. Stupidly sold both many years ago. I would love Gforce to do an emu of this one. Jaime
