Epic Fail......................so far...................

If you're looking for ideas have a flick through the factory presets - there's plenty that use 3 modules or less.

I like running an OSC into a COMB - 'Dissonant' is a good setting - add some Input and plenty of Feedback and then try modulating the OSC Tune (very low pitches are interesting) or changing Comb Flavour and Tone, or modulate Damp with an Env and so on...

I don't know................so far it's like being allowed to drive a Ferrari but not being allowed to take it out of first gear........... :bang: :hihi:
I didn't mean it would be fun for you!

Doesn't need to be qualified by "but unlimited" because those elements appear elsewhere (namely in the control grid). Otherwise correct terminology, Sir!

And... I still think hakey should consider the "1 in each grid" rule again. It's a clean rule, it's a more interesting challenge.

Thank you, Howard. :)

Teksonik, maybe you can give some suggestions on a future contest "rule"?

I definitely like the "1 in each grid" rule as well.

I still would like to see down the line... a best XY use contest, best use of Arp section, best FX, Pads, Basses, Leads, etc... Really, anything is fun for me, restrictive or not.

I'm tempted to agree with you - thingt is, we've already changed the task once, wouldn't changing it again just confuse, or even annoy people?

I do like the idea though - there is lots can be done with one OSC or Comb and it is more of a challenge.

Okay, I would be happy to change it one last time so long as you're willing to take some of the blame Howard!

Post

Hakey, I say go for it... There's still plenty of time to turn something out before the deadline.

And I'm very happy for other people to come up with future tasks - in fact I'd prefer it that way!

Okay - fixed (again!).

TBH I'd been messing around with single modules and was already regretting the three mod rule.

I think this will be quite an interesting task and I really hope that people give it a go.

Maybe we can do this like old school pick-up games of "21" (a basketball game), where the winner of the previous round decides the new rules?

I had thought of that, but what happens when the same person wins every contest (hey MC :hihi: )?

For now, maybe we could just have a discussion each time and see if we can come to a consensus? (In fact, I wish I'd done that this time rather than just going for it, we'd probably have come to the same decision without all the messing around.)

Yay!

Bloody 'ell !!! I spent all day trying to put something worthwhile using 3 modules. :x

Oh well no big deal, I didn't get anything worth sharing any way. Hmmm one module, that's like not even being allowed to put the Ferrari in gear. :hihi:

I'll give 'er a go...............

The rule is no one else gets to enter so I have a chance to win................ :hihi:

Ha ha ... so definitely no MCnoone! :D

Although winning would just not be the same unless you can beat the previous winner.

Maybe people could post some idea, or ideas, for different competitions.
That would give us many ideas to choose from. Although hakey should have the final say on which one.
My idea:
1. Real instrument emulation.(exclude synth emulation)
