Hope he's ok! Or maybe he just got tired of Internet and the digital way of life ... It happens

Post

I don't know the guy, I just exchanged a couple of e-mail a few months ago, when trying to persuade him to work on a new skin. For what he told me, I presumed he is still very young (as in his very early twenties), and involved in school, since he excused alleging he was very busy with his school work.
I sincerely regret is dismissal, since, for what I saw, he seems a genuinely talented guy.

Yesterday Ralph wrote at the Jamstix forum that Scott was not able to finish the Jamstix 3 skin. Something must be going on..

I hope he's Ok. It would be cool if someone could take up where he left off if he is unable to keep going with all that great work he had started.

I would love to know how to start doing all that, what's the best way to start? I mean... is there way to read from Sylenth1 and "get" it's graphics out of it somehow, and then edit them? Or was he just making those up from scratch, and estimating where everything goes on the screen, since Sylenth1 isn't skinnable (yet)?

I have heard it is complicated to make skins, but it would still be fun to try.

He was using a resource editor to alter the skins. I'm not too down with the legality of it, but my feeling is that it may not be too legal. Weather the developer is pissed or impressed would depend on the developer I suppose.

Hey I just did a search, and found this little section where Lennard mentions something about this:

When will these be available? Have you spoken to Lennard about making these an official option of some sort? I think the quality outshines the original by far, you've got alot of talent for this.

Lennard:
Actually I asked Scott to do a new skin for Sylenth, but then he got worked up and created a whole bunch of them

Anyway, Sylenth1 will be skinnable with the next update so you can easily switch between these skins!

Pretty soon that it will be one year since the last update, but it's still a great synth

Incremental updates this whole time would have been great, but perhaps this next update will actually be worth the wait.I could care less about skins at this point now though, I NEED Sylenth to do Poly AT. :D

You're just taking all the fun out of it. But your point is well taken. :)

bump for Thanksgiving/Christmas 8)

This would be cool to get added by Christmas time, even if the rest of Sylenth1 isn't updated. Of course I would love some other stuff too, but I'll take what I can get :hihi:

I don't think it's going to happen. Scott ran out on a paying customer and seems to have disappeared. If Lennard would just give users access to the skin bitmaps and config files like so many other plugins do eventually you'll start seeing alternate skins from some of the talented graphics designers who frequent KVR and who generously give away the fruits of their labors.

Its funny, december 2008 Lennard talk about a coming update with skins, and now, a year later - nothing, and a normal update, where the mainfeature is the skins - over a year? Mhm i think there will come nothing new for sylenth1 in this year and the next
