GUI very sluggish in Windows 7?

An update for everyone, Alexander has let me know that this is still being worked on. Due to the huge amount of work required to re-write most of the GUI code, this is likely to take a reasonable time longer.

Hmm. I'm running Win7 64-bit but actually run the 32-bit version of the plug in Live. I do indeed see some erratic behavior, causing small stutters when using a slider or a knob (seems to be low polling rate or something).

The worst part is that after using the mouse to hold and move a knob or slider for more than five seconds, the gui "hangs" but do not crash. You cannot move the slider/knob further and the plug window reports as "not responding". Once you let go of the mouse though, everything is back to "normal" (with the stutters).

Just wanted to give my five cents here. Glad to see work is in progress

Whished they could implement this at the same time:

you should hide the mouse-pointer when clicking a fader/knob. see voxengo or ohmforce plugins for example. there you still can drag a knob even if the mouse reached the border of your screen ...

Also "feels" much better when tweaking knobs/faders.

they already do that on their other products. the aar however as i understood it is based on another entireley different gui framework where it seems to be not so easy to get this done... i might be terribly wrong here though.... anyway, i think aar still is equiped with a very easy and nice handling that makes it easy to preciseley adjust it.

That's right. But obviously there is some work to do in th GUI code to fix this Windows 7 bug. That's why I thought this could be done together with the mouse pointer hiding when dragging.

I had some problems with clicks and pops when i used AAR GUI but i moved
from a 3Ghz,1MbL2 DualCore to a Quad Q9650 3Ghz 12MbL2 and i don't have any issues anymore.

Hey mate, actually I don't have any pops and clicks at all either. I'm on a Q6600 core 2 quad processor. The issue is purely interface response time, it is extremely laggy here in Windows 7 but perfect in Windows XP on the same box.

I tried the AAR demo on my XP system and in comparison with the 7 Pro, i can see what you mean. But in my opinion the diference in behaviour of the GUI is very small, hardly an issue at all, in my system at least.

Hmmm I don't have this prob on W7 64 bit in Sequoia 11.2.1 Boy I'm glad, I wonder why it affects some systems and not others...

Little bump, brand new i7 SB PC and this issue is indeed still noticeable. Any updates on this and x64 support kind ArtsAcoustic fellas?
