about "ethnic", it still looks to me that you give that word a different meaning, the way I use it it seems to me like everybody I know use it,
except you <grin>, there is nothing offensive in calling an instrument "ethnic" , AFAIK electric guitar is a an american ethnic instrument

brittnell logo is much better, except for the dotted line which looks like it's just there for no reason except to justify the length of the box

hmmm here I am late again... but I hope you all will pause on this logo subject... I want to do some work on it also...
give me a little time... I've done a lot of logo work over the years, but find that working directly in PS is not quite enuff... I personally much prefer to start in Illustrator where I have much better control of typography... ok... back when I have something for ya

ok then... sent a psd of an idea to William... hopefully he can post part or all of it for me here... not sure if I can do that... let's try though ...no darnit I don't know how to post an img file that is on my HD... help anyone... sorry to be so dumb... WK plz post it for me?
I really don't care for the suggested logos... hahahah one more opinion in the mix, eh? I think EVE is too classy a lady for what I've seen so far...
Liqih... let me know if this direction is anything you like as I have the psd files and it can be tweaked and altered. Or if you like it... I think you can strip out the parts you want [turn layers on and off] and use them as you wish.

Hey! I was trying to tell people about the xpaider fonts months ago! BTW, another good (though not free) resource for excellent small fonts is Atomic Media.

ok well I heard from William that Ligih did not like one previous version of this because he wants a more "retro" look and not something so modern.
Still, I thought I'd put this version up for comment... not so much because it's 'mine', etc. but just to further stir some discussion and thinking about other ways to work the graphic elements of the EVE logo.
I don't care if you just 'don't like it'... what I hope for is that it will provoke people to offer more suggestions for a way to design.
Liqih, hope you don't mind... and just to say, what I'm thinking about is graphic techniques... so for example some of these methods could be used with other fonts or original vector art ...whatever... that were more "retro"... If you have vector art elements and\or fonts you would like to see worked with... let me know... always happy to help.
PS... I included some surrounding GUI since I find it important to visualize the logo in the context where it will be ultimately seen!

Hy guys, thanxs for all comments oppinions and even graphic-tests. 
But yesterday I proposed something different for the Logo area, latter we will release a new BETA with it, so you guys can check it out.

I had done another comp, but my server was down for a bit and I couldn't get it uploaded.
Anyhow, here it is regardless (just in case anyone's still curious).
I used Max's excellent suggestion of placing it in the interface, as well as giving it a more retro look.
Still some things I would tweak ("eve" is a bit crowded up top for one), but as it's a moot point now, this is as far as it goes.
It was a fun time-killer none-the-less.

Guys, tomorrow we will release a new beta-version with the new display and logo. I will post a picture here for those who are not beta-testing it.
