Very clear and easy to read, should be great to use. Would also love to see different colors, something a bit brighter.
Well done

Folks, we're very glad to see that you guys liked our new look. This is just the "beginning"
Once we have the PC and Mac released rolled out, we'll concentrate on "add-ons": More skins/thems/presets/videos

To make such a beast as SM2 is to look so easy to use I can just say one thing, very impressive work Jonathan!
Flavours of Lime - Tasty gui design for vst plugins.

Thanks everyone for the supportive comments.
Finished the GUI today. Have a few things to yet to get it organized. Then I can start to work on some color options.
Started working on a second concept for the GUI but Skinman kept having run-time errors and exe crashes so it made it impossible to contine that one, Arrrgh

I started working on the GUI editor. I really enjoy building the GUI using Jonathan's design. I hope everyone else will like the new GUI as well.

Big improvement over current gui. Font on black background and inactive buttons could be brightened a bit to match the almost white metal sections of the interface, or even set to a dull white.

Started working on the 2nd GUI I said I would do. You will notice that I decided to keep the same look straight away, so what is different then beyond the few decorations? I'm changing the layout so that various sections are grouped to one page, with a multi-tab selection for various sub-sections. Not sure if I like the way that I've grouped them, might be advantageous or it might not be.
Here how the sections break down
Layer View: Layer parameter, Multi-tabbed page: Arp, Mircotune, Modulators 1-4
Oscillator View: Both Oscillator 1-2
Filter View: Both filter 1-2
Layer FX view: all layer FX
Voice view: Multi-tabbed pages: ADSR 1-2, ADSR 3-4, Multi-stage Env 1-2, LFO 1-2, LFO 3-4
Seems logical for the most, but the voice section cause me concern. The 'voices' are modulators to knob parameters and grouped that way in the modulation menu for those parameters so I grouped them to one section. I just don't like the idea of the envelopes being so distant from the rest of the programming, but at this time I don't really see another way of doing it effectively.
Heres some mock up pic that I been working on, not decided if this is a good approach or not and it doesn't display the area I'm thinking will be the problem as I described above...I have to work on those next. You can see full size pic here and compare them with the 1st GUI

Looks fantastic. I really do believe that whilst a GUI doesn't affect the sound of a soft synth in any way, it certainly does enhance (or diminish) your creativity, inspiration and fun, which most certainly does come out in your music.
Looking forward to playing with the GUI.
Cheers,
Simon.
