The "broken graphics" fix is on its way. By now I don't have any PC with Intel or ATI graphics around here, so I prepared an intermediate "fixed" build to find out if it does the trick actually: http://sevenphases.wordpress.com/spectr ... yzer/beta/.
I would kindly ask you to try it out and let me know if it's really fixed (no need to test if v1.00 works fine for you already).
Thanks!

OK, the fix was reported to work, so it's time for an update: http://sevenphases.wordpress.com

Thanks for fixing Max
Is there a way to show the analyzer first and not its settings/colors/preferences window?

No, there's no for now. I agree this "detached" window thing is totally questionable and somewhat annoying . I'm thinking of possible ways of increasing its usability (preferably w/o loosing resizing feature) but did not invented a solid solution yet. It's #1 on my todo list.Mercado_Negro wrote:Is there a way to show the analyzer first and not its settings/colors/preferences window?

Thanks again for your feedback Max
Maybe you could add a small button on the analyzer to show that settings/color/preferences window. Inverse what 'Display...' button does. Feasible?

Yeah, that makes sense. It is a bit complicated (as it will be a third window since there's no way to force a host to show its own editor, and here goes some trickery of tracking which one appears on screen). But this is worth it, would be handy.

Something that could probably be done in VST, would be some sort of a resize-grip in the lower-right corner (or somewhere) that when you click-and-drag, draws an overlay rectangle (sort of like the resize used to be before computers got fast enough to resize window's on the fly) and when you release it, it'd report the new size to the host.Max M. wrote:No, there's no for now. [edit: one can still get the old rectangle-style resize even on Windows 7 by going to advanced system properties -> performance, and unticking "Show window contents while dragging"]
On Windows you could try using WS_EX_LAYERED (supported from W2k up; can do alpha channel too IIRC) or something for drawing a translucent overlay if you want, though not sure what the performance would be.

Yep, sure. Finally, this is the only "non-kludge" solution. The only problem is those (mostly old) hosts that do not support resize and folks using such hosts (me uses for example, but I'm about to give up that anyway). Maybe you're right and it's time to stop to cling to this feature and just abandon these "evil pinocchio" appsmystran wrote:... it'd report the new size to the host.

Just checked out the update and it works great here.
This really is a massively useful plug which seems to show LF detail very well.
Thanks again and I am sure I wil use it every day!

The first version was eating tons of cpu and didn't work very well : this version works very well, the many colorshcemes, the resizable GUI make this plugin very useful and clear to read : tank you !
I agree : displaying the frequency while mouse-over-ing on a zone would be a great addition.
Thank you for your free creation.
