I would change the topic title, because it's not really incorrectly priced. It's pretty common that VAT is applicable after pushing the "Buy Now" Button.

You probably mean that it would be less "misleading" if there were in small words "plus VAT" under the price tag. But then again, all web stores should then

Zebra has the great Dinosaur Cross-grade option, which gives you a $50 (!) discount. Read about it on the website. Urs is very nice with this. You don't particularly have to have great vintage hardware at home. An old shoe-box and a drum-stick probably will do

I don't know any company that gives friendly opportunities on discounts like that

Yet other companies set a flat rate for a plugin regardless of VAT or sales tax, and that is not at all misleading.

I agree, you pay tax regardless, you expect it to be in the price, but you do not expect it when something is advertised at $199 like Zebra is, then to find out you have MORE added on top.

As was said, it should say $199 (Sales Tax Not Included) and then you are aware of it.

At least that way you accept you will need to add tax, not suddenly find that out on the check out of share it. Therefore it is misleading.

No, fair point, unless he claims his tax back, in which case he would benefit from it, I am sure a developer ie self employed, could be entitled to tax back. But thats another story. In this case, the price should have the warning tax not added on it, then this wouldnt have been mentioned.

But it's not universally true. Prices are never tax inclusive in US stores. And besides, it would be misleading to buyers from outside of the EU if Urs modified the online price to reflect how much those who live in the EU are going to pay. It doesn't make much sense...

Yes but in the least it should state that the $199 price is Exclusive of any sales tax. Not suddenly have it added to the price during the payment section.

And all UK prices in shops are VAT inclusive, unless you are in a trade shop (Cash & Carry) then they are without VAT as a lot of self employed people claim their tax back. And Urs is self employed, so technically he could claim his back too.

Exactly, and yes I am not emplying there is a deception going on here, far from it, I am just not impressed the price didn't indicate VAT was going to be added, I was more than happy with the $199 price, then without warning that goes to $260, therefore I changed my mind.

@ LeVzi i always go through the checkout procedure now before i get too into a plugin. Usually the VAT will make or break the sale. I found out the hard way too.
