Is Lennardigital still alive?

I never quite understand the need to have contact with a developer aside from customer service issues. If you need to know if Sylent1 is dead, put an instance in a project and see if it works. If it does then it's not dead.

Do you think we should start a collection to help pay for an update?
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Exactly. The frustration on this forum is not because there was a very long time since the plugin was last updated. It¨s the total silence and lack of accurate information. When people know an update is coming (as has been hinted here many times), but never get any information about when, they get frustrated. If Lennard had posted a sticky in early 2009 "Guys, this update is going to take a long time, don't expect anything until the middle of 2010 or later" people would be much calmer. Now people keep checking every week only to be disappointed every time.4damind wrote:If people have the feeling the company is dead, then something goes in the wrong direction. It's not a thing that somebody expect every week a "news update" and a announcement of new features. But after a long time without some news it could be a good thing to give their existing (and new) customers an idea what they can expect in the future?
Too much is bad as too little. If customers ask ever and ever, what is the wrong thing to give an answer "yes we working on an update, have something new for the middle of 2010" or some similar thing?
Is the same if you have a fanbase as a musician but are too silent, the time comes and all fans are gone. People are interested what is going on.
This excitement of checking for news, followed by disappointment every time is what creates the frustration and stress. When people think an update is going to come out any day, the small issues with the current version grow into major, show stopping bugs that to their minds make the product unusable. If people knew that this is what they will have to live with for the next 2 years, then they would accept the drawbacks and use the product as it is.

Agreed. Just one message every 1-2 months about the update progress and I think pretty much everybody would be happy. Thing is also that some people confuse Lennard's policy to not react on update questions with disrespect for them as a customer, which fuels their frustration of course big time.JimmiG wrote:The frustration on this forum is not because there was a very long time since the plugin was last updated. This is a good showcase that it's always a better idea to just keep communicating with your customers, even if you don't have the 'good' news they're waiting for just yet. Communication is the key in pretty much every relationship, also not the customer ones
