A lot of nice ones have been mentoned, but I have to agree with SQ8L. It is one synth that I would surely buy if it was released commercially.emotica wrote:There is a lot of nice stuff already mentioned that I also sometimes can't believe it's free.
Aside from that, another name-dropping with SQ8L
When IS it going to be released commercially?

Absolutely. It and MiniSID are the ONLY two freeware synths I use regularly and I'll definitely buy it if an upgraded version is released commercially. Both of these sound much more hardware-like when oversampled, btw.audiojunkie wrote:A lot of nice ones have been mentoned, but I have to agree with SQ8L. There are many good freeware synths. I really like Synth1, SQ8L and Shortcircuit! Oatmeal and Voyager are really nice too!

Instead it evolved into the ultimate payware softsynth - Omnispherekilon wrote:Actually Crystal, I am surpised because its a very close competitor to Absynth. Too bad , its author no longer updates it , cause this synth could easily evolve to the ultimate freeware synth.
