The new Waves are brilliant.Galbanum wrote:would be interesting with....Urs wrote:Hey,

Would that be something along the lines of, play transient in wavetable[1] then smooth into the tail in wavetable[2-16] for sustain?Urs wrote:Hey, keep in mind: Wave import would be for waveforms for oscillators.
Sampling is still pretty much out of Zebra's focus, but I'm feeling more and more comfortable with a rompleresque module for some oooh and aaah action alongside a selection of transients, and maybe a tool to create your own 2-or-so-MB sample rom.
Very good Results with wave2zebra if i looped the Waves perfectly. The shorter the Waves so much better. For example, my Waves have everybody precisely 14ms and are exactly looped at the Zerocrossing.arbee wrote:are you talking about that java script that transforms wavs into zebra osc templates ??Zork wrote:Hm..you already can import single waveforms as you might know..
Ok, just a single repetition but still it works good..
if so, I didn't have good results with this... maybe I'm not using it the right way.
This is unnecessary, because your not supposed to switch older 2.3 presets to 2.5 mode. I believe due to the changes made from the different versions, it would be close to impossible to improve switching modes and retaining the sound of prior to to 2.5 presets. It's kinda hit and miss with converting 2.3 to 2.5 presets. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I converted quite a few, and it wasn't without a lot of tweaking on most.Arksun wrote:Urs, can you also make sure that 2.3 version compatibility remains in future versions of Zebra, as quite a lot of my patches sound radically different when set to 2.5 mode (for most, not in a good way). Thanks
I think you misunderstood the point. My point was, to keep a 2.3 compatibility mode, so that patches made with 2.3 retain the 2.3 sound with future upgrades of Zebra. If 2.3 compatibility mode was to dissapear, that means that any new patches would have the sound of 2.5 (or 3.0, 4.0 etc) and thus would not sound as they should. I wasn't asking for a conversion tool to convert 2.3 patches into 2.5 and magically sound the same, they won't because of the different sounding filters etc.mcnoone wrote:This is unnecessary, because your not supposed to switch older 2.3 presets to 2.5 mode.Arksun wrote:Urs, can you also make sure that 2.3 version compatibility remains in future versions of Zebra, as quite a lot of my patches sound radically different when set to 2.5 mode (for most, not in a good way). Please, by all means, gentlemen/herren - I was looking at Alchemy for use with this library earlier. I haven't bought Zebra 2.5 yet (and I will, hopefully before the year's end), but allowing me to access these FABULOUS waveforms in Zebra would probably "swing my vote" and spur the sale.Urs wrote:Hehe, been thinking about it. and a high quality option for render... I do not need to record the actual audio in 96k and for general resources would rather leave the audio interface at 44 or 48...
I'm not so keen on a sample module for Zebra... There is still so much to explore with the pure synthesis in Zebra... I would not like if sound designers start to focus on sample stuff for example...MitchK1989 wrote:"rompler" module would be pretty cool, though I think in the interest of not turning zebra into a sampler with a ton of libraries and such, the rom size would have to be limited quite a bit so patches would still be so easily "portable" (samples small enough to fit in the preset files) or it would have to really be a ROMpler in the sense that there were built in samples like on a D-50 or Kawai K5000 and you literally could not load any more (so patches could be shared, as everyone would be working with the exact same sample pool)
