Only the monophonic one. The polyphonic one never was on Windows.todd_r wrote:I'm sure that used to have a Windows version (and be free at some stage)
I'm a Melodyne guy, though I've tried about every other tool out there for pitch correction. For me, Melodyne is just easier to use and has it's own unique features that I enjoy(and to my ears, it sounds good when used right). I don't really know what I would choose if Melodyne wasn't around though.

In the "not quite as good as Melodyne but still kind of does the job" category, Photosounder (my program, a standalone app, for both PC and Mac, for $59/$175 depending on the license). It has some pretty good isolation capabilities, although not automated (but assisted to a certain extent, mostly for harmonic content), and since the very latest release you can do pitch-shifting with it using a curve representing the shift and using the Vertical Propagation blending mode.
However you might not like the effect it gives to the sound you input (you can do pitch shifting only in non-lossless mode, mode which gives a distinct effect to sound no matter what you do). It will be a lot better though when version 2.0 comes out in a very few months (hopefully) with a much better analysis algorithm and thus a much better sound (and the update will be free no matter which license you buy).
Definitely not better than Melodyne DNA for what Melodyne DNA does, but you asked for cheaper, not better

Yes they are, for instance vielklang or included flex pitch within Logic, the only feature that is second to (almost) none in Melodyne is DNA that allows polyphonic correction inside an audiofile !

According to the version comparison on Prop's website, the new Reason Intro includes Reason's pitch edit capabilities. It's about 80% of the way to being Melodyne Assistant for $100. Definitely not as convenient as Melodyne, but it is cheaper. Plus you get a half-decent DAW out of the deal.

It's just that it's so expensive. Even the Melodyne Essential costs just as much as a DAWMrBauer wrote:Melodyne is unbeaten in terms of quality and featurs to me. And it gets handed out in a lighter version with so many other audio software. There's a reason for it

I'm really happy with the Melodyne like pitch correction in Reason 10.

Waves Tune has been yielding excellent results for me. I’ve often seen it on sale for $50; even as low as $29. As a matter of fact, in a few cases, I was able to pitch correct a couple of vocal takes more transparently with Waves Tune; more so than using good ol’ ara powered Melodyne 4 Studio in poly mode. Obviously, Melodyne can do a lot more than waves Tune, but Tune is surprisingly good. It’s GUI is too small - I use Windows magnifier to see it properly . . .*Grin.
