Another dubstep/wobble-bass patch for the MuSynth:

http://www.mutools.com/mulab/temp/WoBazz.zip

Open the zip and drag-drop the WoBazz.MuSynth to your Mulab/User/Library/MuSynth subfolder and it will be ready to use in MU.LAB :)

Morning Jo,

Very nice patch.

Seems we have a competition running here.

I will see if I can beat yours. Probably not. We will see.

Hope you are OK.

I've updated the WoBazz patch, tweaked the sound a bit more. Same link as before: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/temp/WoBazz.zip

By the way: someone having the appetite creating a cute little deeeeep dubstep demo session to share on http://www.mutools.com/mulab-demo-sessions.html? So please use MU.LAB only (no VSTs), and keep the sample footprint small (don't forget to embed them!).

The 'winner' gets a MU.LAB UL User License :)

Is there a way to sync the wobble (LFO) or multiples/divisors to the current tempo?

The LFO is free running, but restarts on every new note.

Challenge accepted. Here's a MU.LAB session - DubDeep.MuSession - maybe not so deep, but in the dub spirit and more musical than most. This uses only MuLab components, but I used the add-ons ---- HouseKit drums and dubBass Musynth.

I also packaged the Session and the add-on MuLab patches in a Zip so if you don't have the add-ons already, you can download the whole ball of wax. Just unzip to your MuLab folder using folder names, so everything will go into place. (This all made with a MuLab 3.1)

Looking to hear more of the dub on this channel.

Hi jpumphandle,

Some feedback:
  • Please also post a MP3 link of that track as that's the most easy to preview your track.
  • It's best to simply embed all samples into the MuSession. Please try to remove any unused samples so that the filesize stays as low as possible. FYI: even using the second zip i couldn't listen to your complete track.

Yes, I did forget to embed the samples (Sorry 'bout that). I have dub checked the MuSession so it should work for you now. here's the link (it's much larger now with embedded samples) - DubDeep.MuSession. Using the Remove Unused samples should have lost any excess weight.

For just listening - DubDeep (MP3) - it's pretty short so won't take up much of your time.

The MuSession no longer requires the add-ons (now embedded), but I have included the whole ball of wax again - with add-ons - in a zip file which includes the HouseKit folder of samples - DubDeep.zip.

And again looking to listen to some dub on this channel.

Not sure what to think of your track Johnny, except that's it's very weird, imho. ('weird' meant as an objective aspect). Besides that, i don't recognize the dubstep in it.

hi, for listening some dubstep:

Hi All,

http://www.mediafire.com/file/p68dx9xgp ... BY.MuSynth

I have made a MUSYNTH patch which has two SAW OSC and one SUB.

If you play with the controls on the patch you can get some nice bass sounds.

You could use this as a starting point to create your own patches. Try changing the wave forms in the OSCs etc.

I would then use VST effects/EQ etc to change the sound further.

Unfortunately I am very busy right now and this is the best I can do on this dub stuff.

I wish you all well in creating dub music.

Bye for now.

See you all when M4 testing starts.

That's a nice fat sound OZ :)

Little note: Maybe volume is a bit too high, i easily go into red even when playing a some single notes.

Post

Hi Jo,

Yes it is probably the main volume is set too high.

Please feel free to adjust the preset to your taste and add it to M3/M4 if you like it enough.

Nice to hear from you.

See you later in the year.

Well, I took another shot at this. This MuSession ended up using only 1 chord and a variety of MuSynth. Here is the tune - DubToo (MP3)

The MuSession file is also available, but came out a little large at 14MB because I embedded a nifty rumble sound. DubToo.MuSession

Still waiting for some real deep dub.
