Try this:
1. load Sytrus (Channels > Add one > Sytrus)
2. Choose the "default" preset for Sytrus
3. play a note
Does it still happen?

Forget about new patterns and PoiZone for a little bit. Does that "default" sound of Sytrus (just a sine wave) keep playing even after you've stopped triggering the note?

If you put notes in the piano roll, it's as if you start triggering them yourself (where the note starts) and stop again (where the note ends). So it should behave the same from the piano roll as when you play it live.
It's just for the step sequencer that it's different: it only triggeres notes and doesn't stop them (unless a new note starts, but only within the same pattern).

It might be a good idea to take a look at the videos in the "FL Studio Beginners" section of our tutorials:
http://support.image-line.com/videotutorials/
There are videos about the general workflow, about the step sequencer and about the piano roll.

Could you check this help page?
http://flstudio.image-line.com/help/htm ... derrun.htm
It could be something else, but it's worth trying that first.

The plugins don't need to set their own sizes, the host (FL Studio) tells them what to use.
