True, but they also have a good track record for pricing their products pretty reasonably. I've only watched the videos, so I'm not saying that this product isn't worth the asking price, but it is among the more expensive stutter effects so I don't think it's unreasonable for anybody to wonder what it offers that less expensive products don't.Kevin63101 wrote:Izotope has a pretty good track record for delivering products worth the asking price.
Izotope buys BT's Sonik Architects (Stutter Edit now Released!)

Wow!
This plug-in is totally mind-blowing. Just spent the past 2 hours with it and I have to say it blows every other stutter effect plugin out of the water. It's just so easy to get some fantastic sounding effects that would take a lifetime to program otherwise. The only downside is that everyone is now going to sound like BT with almost no effort.
Spend a few hours with it and you'll quickly realise why it's $149-$249. Worth every penny imho.

This thing is quite fun..here's a quick bit on the chorus of one of my tunes.

It's fun now, but how much would I really use it?

A very good point. The novelty factor could wear off a little quickly but it's still a fascinating and exceptional piece of kit. Has entertained me to no end tonightbluedad wrote:It's fun now, but how much would I really use it?

Great Plug-In, demoed it and will definitely buy it, much more intuitive to edit than The Finger or any other Reaktor stuttererererer.

Interesting.
I'll have to try out the demo. I already own "The Finger", it'll be interesting to see how it compares.
That said...my initial reaction re: the price of admission is a little...ah, less than charitable. $149 seems a little on the high side, $249 I couldn't swallow for a specialized effect like this.

This would get a lot of use if you are doing those genres that call for it. Probably not much otherwise.

After playing with it for a while it is a very nice plugin. Seems to fill a gap that isnt really covered by some existing plugins. Of course the price..... yea
So anyone compare it to buffeater, wondering how it compares

Hey All,
Anyone using Cubase SX as a host for Stutter Edit. Downloaded the demo, but it doesn't show up as an output on the MIDI track. Only got to use it through the preset manager virtual keyboard, however I played with it for 4 hrs straight lol...Any suggestions or perhaps it's a bug in plug-in?

I'm the same, and I like the fact I can move on, knowing the latest technique is available without so much pain. One thing I respect is workflow, and if the tools can release this and musicianship rather than programing, then for me, I'll have some on my daw. I put it through some strings I wrote earlier with Garritan Personal Orchestra, It's nice ( Hmmmm?Colin Bennett wrote:Wow!

P.s Izotope don't seem big in specials after the release, so I will make my decision in a few weeks, but it's very nice, just wish I wasn't a poor english servant.

This is not cutting edge, not even a year ago. This has been in the offing for years.Kevin63101 wrote:VariKusBrainZ wrote:Hahaha $250 hahaha![]()
I suppose you're happy enough with Glitch freebie? This isn't glitch.
StutterEdit is a cutting edge product. What you're paying for is way more control and flexibility than any of the alternatives available, plus plenty of new features never before on a stutter effect -- did you bother to look at the screenshots or the details? Here's a demo video on their site: http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/stutteredit/
BTW - it's $149 introductory.
I did look at the screenshots and features and I cant see it being worth $250. Yes, I noticed the still very high intro price.
I have plenty of plugs that cover what you guys would call 'stutter' and Glitch isnt one of them, its not up my street and too restrictive for my taste as is this one....plus the laughable price tag
