Eeek.

Now I gotta hurry and find some graphics designer /w Joomla and phpBB template skills

This is great! Reading this reminds me just what an amazing synth Zeb is, and how little I've actually scratched the surface of most of it. For example, using the sideband module to create beat tones that don't speed up and down across the pitch range (which is tacky and sounds like a sample). I'd never have thought of that since I've never used a sideband module.

One omission I noticed, in the Osc FX section, it's neglected to mention that the wrap effect has two functions depending on + and - values. (Will I ever stop talking about the wrap FX? No, I love it :P). It's great to read the explanations of all the effects, though, finally. I find knowing exactly what some function does breathes new life into how I use it.

And finally, I still can't believe there may be more FX, waveshape types etc added to Zebra. You spoil us, Urs :)

How many of you have tried the hyperlinks at the bottom of each page? Have I made them clear enough?

They're working here just fine in FoxIT reader (die acroread die!). The TOC links work just fine too. I will say I didn't notice them right away but after a few pages I did notice them and liked that they were a sort of "page context links", nice idea.

Another quickie...Maybe you could add to an appendix the FM carrier tuning image you made some time ago:
Image

And it might also be nice to have a table of the following:
Filter Cutoff | Midi Note Number (note name) | Hertz

Considering almost all other synths seem to use Hz and not musical tuning it might be an easy way to help them convert to the Zebra side of synthesis :borg:

Yeah - thanks for reminding me of that! However, I think I'll reserve that for another document dedicated to such Zebra2 geekdom

More tutorials and tips would be awesome. Easily my favorite part of the manual are the Geek Tips! :tu:

Howard, on page 43 for the mixer module you have the following:

Pan Not Balance or Pan as discussed above (!), but xx

Just making sure you don't miss that "XX". :)

On page 57 when talking about the ModFX you have an experiment:

Experiment: Take Center and Depth to zero, Resonance to 80, use e.g. ModWhl to modulate Center

The ModFX has no Resonance knob. Did you mean Speed?

'Zebra2 is a patchcord-free modular synthesizer. Designed for flexibility, ergonomy and a low CPU load, it
builds upon a reputation of consistently great sound quality. We at U-HE believe that Zebra2 is the right choice for both composers
and players alike, who need an uncompromising workhorse synthesizer - practically all parameters
in Zebra2 can be modulated.'

I come from a family of editors! :hihi:

Hi Howard,

The manual is great! I sent you a PM with my comments after my first read through (just in case you look here first).

Best regards,
