NOT SOLVED FOR MAC
I spent $150 and had to rename files to make them component files which STILL don't show up in my plugin list. I did this after NOTHING showed up when I added the VST files and the random "file" that has to go in the VST folder as well.
My carbon copy plugin says "copy this id" at the bottom... with absolutely no direction as to what that means. Disto-s says "copy this id" as well... both of these plugins do not effect the sound but the GUIs work... Disto meter works but doesn't affect the audio in anyway. All in all this BS makes absolutely no sense and whoever runs this company needs to get his shit together and step into the post 2010 days. It's 2021 and quinto or whoever apparently doesnt know how to make plugins for mac users... Oh, and motortown just fails to validate. I'm gonna get my money back if this doesnt get sorted out, I have asked the owner three times what "copy this id" means and what I am supposed to do with the 20 letter ID... but the owner either doesnt know what he made, doesn't want to tell me what it means or something because he ignores the question.
ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT "COPY THIS ID" IS AT THE BOTTOM OF MY GUIs????
Problems installing sknote plugins. (Solved).

Calm down.
First, you copy the code out of the plugin. Log into your SKnote account and go to your profile page. Copy the code into one of the slots in the Workstations list. Re-download DIsto-S. The reason you have to download it again is so that the licence file gets encoded with your workstations. Rename the .vst to .component and put it in your Plugins/Components folder. Rename the license file (in the zip) to what it says in the readme (eg. for Disto-S the name should be Disto-Sd with no extension) and put that in your Components folder as well. For good measure restart and it should work.
Nest time read the readme. README. Read... Me... what could be more obvious....
Yes a convoluted process. Welcome to Italy.

Im Giving him another shot... thanks. I did read the readme but its a goddamn word salad and extremely confusing... this dude needs to modernize his stuff. I don't know what italy has to do with anything, Nimbrini is from Italy... he clearly knows what he's doing....

Yes it's nuts but that's the SKnote experience. Always an interesting time and satisfying when his plugins finally work!

It's not the worst system, but it's really bad compared to before. And I have always doubts when smaller companies using lisence server. Is there a plan when they decide to close? My biggest wish would be that they return to the system before.
From the sound quality sknote is problably among the very best, but I think the rest of the experiance is holding them back. I liked to buy from them in the past, as soon as something was only a bit interesting considered it, but at the moment I would probably only buy when there is no alternative to a plugin quality wise.
Still, I think it's very cool to have their plugins. They are doing something right sonically.
