Yeah at first i was nice but a bit pedestrian but after spending some time with it now mhoi the Diva has a ton of character. I love the modules, change the filter, get a new sound, change the osc, get a new timbre...rsmus7 wrote:I don't think you can get the sound of DIVA out of any other VA-synth plugin,JJBiener wrote:I don't mean to be difficult here, but I can get those sounds out of dozens of synths, many of them free. I want to hear what Diva can do that is unique. Show us something other synths can't do.
ok my examples may not be that specific,
but when you try DIVA you'll see what I mean

A strummed style instrument I've been tweaking with in Diva. This is without any external effects: http://www.mediafire.com/?dcy12t5ofdoadn9
No other synth I've used can maintain such great clarity with so many voices active.

a quick demo in 80s electropop/funk flavour
http://soundcloud.com/olikana/olikanadivademo1
priority was making a kickasss minimoog 80s funk bass (that is so elusive to do with softies)....and it does a fine job imo.
the rest of the sounds just cooked up quickly as corollary.
btw all sounds done using mostly the moog modules.

First I didn't like the triple VCO but I'm slowly falling in love with it. It's awesome for some broken drone stuff
Just one held note and some live tweaking:

^ Awesome! Instead of the sound breaking up, it feels thick and elastic.

same here. first time i opened the 3 vco moog module i thought "these oscillators sound wrong!shitty, weak etc.. !"" but then u find the sweet spots and when u put them through the filter and envelopes they really breath ...they sound organic and rich.Bronto Scorpio wrote:First I didn't like the triple VCO but I'm slowly falling in love with it.s

Another patch (with no external effects) using the triple VCO http://www.mediafire.com/?4nmn72oj10bt7ck This one is a bit more beastly.
I'm so broke right now, but I think this synth may be my first VSTi purchase ever. I just love the feel of tweaking virtual analog synths and this one sounds amazing.

diva and percussive sounds is very nice too
this is an example,
only one patch,
all the changes of the sound
are only done by the modulation wheel assigned to the cutoff of the filter
Diva percussion 1

It was the opposite here! Most of the time I like "clean", precise sounds. I just didn't like the raw energy of the Triple VCO. Until I started to try it for this kind of soundsolikana wrote:same here. first time i opened the 3 vco moog module i thought "these oscillators sound wrong!shitty, weak etc.. !"" but then u find the sweet spots and when u put them through the filter and envelopes they really breath ...they sound organic and rich.Bronto Scorpio wrote:First I didn't like the triple VCO but I'm slowly falling in love with it.s

It's really funny. I never liked the sound of the Minimoog either! I guess Urs did a great job with the emulation
But the additional modulation and sound options (like the osc sync etc.) make sounds like this possible, which makes the Triple VCO interesting again
