The Great Ocean Road, one of my favourites when I'm down there. Really enjoyed the 12 Apostles Helicopter flight, too. If you have time, make it a trip to Adelaide and take the ferry to Kangaroo Island, beautiful spot with amazing beaches, wildlife and things to explore (if you into this kind of thing). If you're up near Sydney, don't miss Jarvis Bay, the honeymoon bay, wildlife dolphins, whales (depends on the time of the year) and so much more..Noctilucent wrote:Realistically thou.. I hope you all have a great time down under:) Urs, are you going roadtripping along the coast again?

It's a pity we only have 5 weeks... not much time to spend outside family affairs (well, it ain't bad with Nic of Jet and Eugene of TISM as cousins
)
We'll see. I'd just really love to meet you guys

Hi Urs, I would love to be in on this.
Hopefully you can organise it for after the 27th Jan.
I am in New Zealand till then.
Actually a good spot to meet could be the Belgian Beer Cafe http://belgianbeercafemelbourne.com/index.php. Its right by the city and has a fantastic open air setting, so even if there are stacks of people you can still hear each other speak. Good food and a heap of nice beer to choose from (assuming belgian style is ok).
Urs, do you have any particular styles of beer that you prefer (we have a lot of choice in oz now). Lots of really nice beer specific pubs appearing with massive range of choices

ttoz: Why not just go somewhere and meet around the city
(because that what I would do if he comes to catch up in Sydney, my apartment is way too small
)

Just a little walk across the desert
That Melbourne weather is shocking - but the coffee and the food is great...
The West Coast has the best weather - like Los Wierdos - without the smog...
I lived in Sydney for a while...Went to the Music Crematorium and played music in the clubs...
But the West Coast lifestyle leaves it in the dust...
When we succeed and keep all those mining royalties,the rest of Australia is going to have to turn the lights out early to save on the power bill

Yeah... I do think though their bass player passed away a few years ago. At least they got their stuff published on iTunes now.risome wrote:Eugene de la Hot-Croix Bun is a relation -awesome Tell TISM to start playing again, lazy bastards.![]()

How does that sound:
- it should be a weekend date, could be Jan 27/28 or Feb 3/4/10/11
- must check with wife because two family birthdays...
- Jayney says we should do it in the city, we'll take a hotel room because she doesn't want to drive
- so somewhere between St Kilda and Brunswick Rd?

Phantastic!ttoz wrote:geez i am only a 20 minute drive from you really, and after me it's a futher 15 mins to city.
I'll tell Jayney about the possibility of us having a lift
We should maybe make a little list within a week, so we can see how many we'll be, roughly... that might help to decide where to go!
