@mcnoone Well, :D of course I'm complaining only because I like the Bite HPF and want to make some pads with the BP multimode filter ...and I kinda ..well now, with the multithreading button it's on the limit.

@Urs I totally understand you and I never once looked bad on why u-he is not offering deals.

I think Diva is rather cheap. A Minimoog, Jupiters and MS's all for a very attractive price + in the future more modules coming! What on earth do you want more?

Someone is selling Diva @ the market place :hyper: quick!

Yup, Diva is always on "sale." She's one of the best synths of any kind ever created, all for a song compared to other VAs, to say nothing of yesteryear's hardware costs.

Which is not to say that I don't sympathize with those of limited incomes. I'm in that category too these days due to disability. We have to learn to make the most of what we have - and a life lesson that is.

phazedown wrote:I don't have a steady income and missed the intro offer by one month. Could have saved around 50€, that's quite something. But more realistic is a comparison to existing products: "A very accurate Minimoog emulation" costs 220€ for just one synth and with a dongle protection. In Diva you have some additional models and mixable parts with more presets in the future.

Got influenced a lot by comments about the sound quality as I can't compare it to the analog models by myself. But when people with more than 20 years of experience praise Diva's sound quality I think you may trust in that as a young user. The community here was a strong pro argument.
For me the demo sounded "organic" with depth, so just what I needed.
And then there were the crackles driving me mad and "it just happened"

Even if you still go to school you have the chance to work for it, the software is paid in less than a week (at least for western countries). Actually it just takes three full days. If you don't think that's worth it, wrong price category.
It might be annoying to miss an intro offer but keep the alternatives in mind.
:tu: about the community and saving the funds and I'll add the general reputation of U-he development AND pro-active SUPPORT. These were all considerations that made me adopt ACE back in beta too. The result was a pleasurable experience so Diva was a no-brainer. Plus I had been waatching discussion and cursing about this beast for some months on here and Urs, Howard and others were really getting my interest piqued the whole time, discussing new technologies going into this and HOW it would attempt to emulate some well-known modules etc. Most of all I know, after owning nearly all of U-he's wares for some time, how reliable and frequent updates are upon release of public betas AND afterwards. I'm not trying to drag this on, but it is important sometimes to hear other stories of why people purchased a product with blind faith. I don't do such on a regular basis, believe me. I knew deep down what would become of the beta when I let go of the discount money during the beta. I also expected some niggles and hiccups with various features and graphics. "No worries", I thought to myself. And I'd do it all again...As I shall for ACE XL and even the full Modular in the future.

 This next part is simply a footnote. I'm about 40years old and I think it's good to share experience. I don't intend to preach! It is just extra info into the wind. I support a family BUT I manage to put aside at least 500SEK (around 75USD or so)(or whatever I wish to donate from my extracurricular budget) from every personal paycheck for use here in project studio. I KNOW there are those who simply cannot manage such routine so I do not wish to make it sound simple. However, I know from personal experience that it is difficult to see what one can and cannot afford without a budget plan of some kind. This is just how it works for us. I work hard at an industrial day job and do not make a lot of money. I think I am considered just below average family income here. We have a good many payments every month but still save a lot and we still manage to have enough to enjoy ourselves, even individual entertainments/investments such as these. That was GENERAL advice and not intended to the OP exclusively.

Urs, please charge what you need to so you can STAY IN BUSINESS and DO THIS FULL TIME. We need talented developers like you who give us these very special products, and I think it's fair to say that all of your paying customers don't want you to disappear from the scene (like some other developers that didn't get the business side together enough to stay full-time). So charge what you need to. Many of us are on "auto-buy" from you since your track record has been so good. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it. You've found a sweet spot of quality/price/support that makes me want to continue to buy. The price you set for Diva is totally reasonable, and the intro price for "version 1 beta testers" was also fine. I don't have a ton of money to spend, but I've bought all your products and each one has been well worth it.

For those who might need a more affordable entry point, may I humbly suggest a "Little Diva" which includes just one model from the full Diva... then charge $50-75 for it as an entry point, with an easy upgrade path to the full Diva.

Now, as for Uhbik-X, I'm still waiting on that one. :)

Hehehe, we'll soon be 5 guys working full time here...

No worries, Diva sales have saved my ass from tax authorities, and we even have a comfortable buffer to survive a few harder months, should we need to.

Yay! I've been hoping for Uhbik-X for a while. I cannot wait to see what you come up with. Uhbik + rack/modulation/routing/whatever = magic

Plus your Propellerhead Rack Extensions stuff... keep it up! And again, do what you need to stay in business. So don't go buying that fancy Ferrari you want with Diva sales until I finish another couple of albums, okay? ;)

Recently, in front of a posh Italian restaurant. Us (wife, cousin Nic, me) look at the token Ferrari that's parked there.

Me: "Oh look, an overpriced dick extension"

Nic: "I just bought one last week..."

(was kind of embarrassing for both of us  )

My understanding is that ACE and Zebra will eventually gain a lot of the algorithms and sound of DIVA. Has that changed?
