Things are moving on the DAW front.

Ignore me, I've not had enough coffee yet. I was thinking of midi bridging in Meteor which only seemed to work on a jailbroken ipad. Your's, in fact:

But I think I was originally confused by your sentence "If Meteor would have Background capabilities I could record Arctic Keys from Meteor instead Of having to import a MIDI File", which I thought at the time meant natively recording another app.

I know that Audiobus should resolve this, and I'm really looking forward to it, but won't the new features of iOS 6 also open doors for audio developers as well?J.C wrote:Never heard of something like that. I don't believe that it's possible. I'm on a jailbroken device too and search a looooooog time for such a solution (something like Audiobus actually) and it just doesn't exist.
You can't (still) record audio from another app. With Meteor or whatever other App...

Do you (or anyone for that matter), know if the main Audiobus app has been submitted to Apple yet for review? I'd sure like to get some news on that front. A lot hangs on that review board.J.C wrote:Yes we all really hope so. But Apple didn't made any declaration about inter-app audio. So we just have expectations.

I could probably do a search, but what are the advantages for Audiobus over Apples inter-app audio coming in iOS 6?

One likely possibility is that, like mentioned above, Audiobus could possibly be added into apps that still support the original iPad.BMoore wrote:I could probably do a search, but what are the advantages for Audiobus over Apples inter-app audio coming in iOS 6?
Another nice advantage would be native audio/video sampling during playback, which could allow apps to record the output (also known as "record what you hear"), regardless of the source (I'd sure like to be able to record straight to DAW on my Bismark bs-16i.
There are probably more possible benefits, but I would love to see Audiobus and iOS 6 be available and complement each other, rather than iOS 6 killing Audiobus (which supposely is not going to happen).

"Record what you hear" could also be a part of iOS 6.
Don't know why that would be exclusive to Audiobus.

Or I may have mis-read your post, and you were thinking of iOS.

And actually we should better ask: what won't be possible to do with this "inter-app audio" feature?
It's an Apple product, so it will definitely be limited in some ways.
And, hopefully, Audiobus will be there to fill the holes.
