So you used a single contact test light? Wrong conclusion then, this is how it should be. You have a "live" and a "neutral" wire in the power socket. If both contacts light up, THEN there would be a problem :lol:

Since DIY seems not to be your thing and money also doesn't seem to be an issue, I'd suggest to hire a qualified electrician to look into your troubles.

I did that with a Mac G5, blew the dust and it wouldn't boot. I took it to a certified Apple repair shop and it turned out to be the CPU was 'confused'. Take it to a competent person.
