Sequences can contain events that are not played, for example if the sequence part is shorter than the sequence. The "Trim To Played" function will delete any events that are not played, and will also resort the sequence loop so it starts at the beginning of the sequence, i.e. 1.1.0000 sequence time.

thanks
I've dream to a "triG to play" function, it could be fantastic, to play selected sequence with a MIDI command (note or CC), with a lauchpad for example, or a MIDI keyboard

It's already possible (in some way) using the Sequence Player module. And you could combine that with a Note Key Splitter to combine different sequences.

Shortcuts for Rack-Desk (Docked/Windowed and Collapse/Expand all Racks) don't work unless the focus is on the Rack Desk, while the Show/Hide Rack Desk works all the time. V5.10
Why?
Why?

Because the Show/Hide Rack Desk is a context function on session level, and the session has a much wider scope/span than an individual rack. Hope this clarifies it.

It helps, but it doesn't solve it
Why they belong to two different contexts? I can't see a logical reason so far.
Also, what happened to the Shortcut command for the shortcuts functions?
I can't find it.

Hmmm...I know it's redundant to mention, but now I just realized why the compression had puzzled me; I'm used to "thinking/experiencing" that it pushes UP the lower volumes, meaning the original input doesn't have to be cranked up. It's all fine the way it is now, I just felt like sharing what confused me. Maybe somebody else had the same misconception, who knows?!

Pure compression "simply" reduces dynamic range, starting at some level and at a particular rate as the level rises above that. Make-up gain can be used to raise the output again. For example, if you set the Threshold to -12dB and the Compression to 2:1, you'll drop the maximum level from 0dB to -6dB (I'm pretty sure...). You could safely dial in +6dB of Post Gain gain without clipping -- but you may not want this, of course.
For cranking up a "weak" signal, I often use a limiter (mdaLimiter, in fact) rather than a compressor but I've never really thought about the options...

The next version will have improved support for rack desk shortcuts when the rack desk is docked.liquidsound wrote:It helps, but it doesn't solve it
Because you can't do 'Show Rack Desk' on a rack desk that doesn't exist. Anyway, next version will contain a practical solution, cfr above. Why they belong to two different contexts? I can't see a logical reason so far.![]()

Indeed a bug! Fixed in the next version. Thanks. Also, what happened to the Shortcut command for the shortcuts functions?
I can't find it.

Thanks, pl, I have always worked knowingly with compression for over 20 years, but somehow had been convinced that, for example, if you did leave the input gain at 0dB, the curve of compression would raise the lower volume up at the given threshold and based on the compression ratio. Not that the threshold would lower the curve maximum, requiring a post gain. That way you could use the attack time, actually. Currently, if you had to pre-gain the signal, an attack time would overdrive the signal before attack time is over. I'm used to using attack more than release to time my compression. It does work the other way around in MuLAB, it seems, and it works fine, too, but it just seems unusual. I had been wrecking my brains over this from the start and now I get it. It's weird, but well... makes me doubt the last 20 years, hahaha, but then again...no.

I think I need to refresh and read again the Docs and get a little deeper because something is not making sense to me.mutools wrote:Because you can't do 'Show Rack Desk' on a rack desk that doesn't exist.
Sorry.
Thanks for the reply.

No need to waste too much time on it, you won't find that answer in the docs. I just answered your technical-logical question. In the next version you'll be able to do what you want to do (i.e. even when the focus is on e.g. the composer a Collapse/Expand Racks shortcut will also work) and that's all that matters, right?liquidsound wrote:I think I need to refresh and read again the Docs and get a little deeper because something is not making sense to me.mutools wrote:Because you can't do 'Show Rack Desk' on a rack desk that doesn't exist.
