Gotcha. It's much more useful for presets to me anyway, and that is definitely working well enough to be really useful to me.Urs wrote:[...] Symlink support is in new code that requires full rewrites of areas with file access. Especially the gui script code is very old and not exactly suited for such a rewrite, whereas the preset management code was.

You mean the accidentally leaked plugin-we-don't-speak-of which I left in there after the public agreed to never ask for documentation, support or updates? This was in 2005 and the unspoken contract must not be broken!EvilDragon wrote:That tiny reverb designer plugin that comes with Zeebs?

Another few very minor things I noticed during installing the latest versions:
- the ACE installer does not show 'Upgrade' but 'Install' on already installed components.
- The Diva installer (still) comes with two differently named text files ('About Presets.txt' and 'Preset contributors.txt') and with the exact same contents (list of names / abbreviations for patch contributors).

I wrote a short (and not at all supported) mini-manual for Zrev some time ago. The information was collected from Urs' comments around here over the span of a few years. Some of it is speculative, but that's just part of Zrev's charm I suppose...Urs wrote:You mean the accidentally leaked plugin-we-don't-speak-of which I left in there after the public agreed to never ask for documentation, support or updates? Regarding patches, ZRev does a decent job of working with host preset management systems.

My apologies, Urs - I wasn't a member of KvR in 2005, so I don't know all these things.

Yep, that first one shouldn't be in there. It has been renamed "Preset contributors".Ch00rD wrote:- The Diva installer (still) comes with two differently named text files ('About Presets.txt' and 'Preset contributors.txt') and with the exact same contents (list of names / abbreviations for patch contributors).

We've tried a few things, but it doesn't seem to work no matter what. We might have to add a download with manual installations, which means moving a lot of files into the right places and running some shell scripts in Terminalmegadude wrote:I gather us 10.5.8 suckas still got to wait for a final build? (no big deal, no rush, just curious, thanks)
You can also try Pacifist to unpack things, maybe the embedded packages work.

hehehe, renaming alone doesn't help - Clemens also needs to erase the old one out of the versioning system.... please add to our todo list...Howard wrote:Yep, that first one shouldn't be in there. Well, in that case it's probably part of a bigger bug. We'll see...Ch00rD wrote:Yes indeed... goof catch, mulpHia!Btw, one can show the presets in the other themes in a dropdown menu using the right-click button, and also use the arrow buttons to browse them. I guess it's just a theme thing with the Preset Manager, not a permissions issue.
