Looking forward to checking this one out. Nice to see something very different from the Tone2 guys.

Please no! Not for FM! I hate 'pimped' synthesizers. And tone2 are number 1 in this game.

Wow nice 90's style photoshop lens flare! :P

Seriously, FM synthesis really bores me. But still, it could be an interesting synth with unusual FM features, will keep my ears open for the next audio demos, I have doubts but who knows.

In all Tone2 synths you could turn psychoacoustics off. For example in Saurus it'S the "Boost" On/Off button.

Nemesis will offer an approach to FM synthesis that in this way should be different to most or even any other FM synths before.

It should be usable also for people that are no "FM gurus". :)

The name "Nemesis" comes from "Neo FM Synthesis

You really should at least roughly describe what "neoFM" is, how it differs in synthesis terms to "classical" Chowning-style FM and a basic idea how the sound differs.

Otherwise it's just more advertising-speak. Which I promptly ignore.

Not sure how much i am allowed to reveal. It was a surprise to me too that the tearer is published here today. Maybe Bastiaan is allowed to answer this. For sure it will be answered ASAP.

Will there be operators and algorithms, and if so can create and save your own? Own waveforms to modulate the operators?

There will be operators...

There will be more than just a Sine waveform too...

The rest will be a secret at the moment... :)

What's to reveal? Any "super-secret" is in the application, not in the description of the synthesis method. If it has any components of Chowning's patents in it at all it's basically open tech.

Saying something like "it's a 4-op FM synth with a deep modulation matrix and a 24 pole filter per op with multi FX" is not giving away the keys to the kingdom.

But IIRC, you did this before with Ray-Blaster and things got pretty harsh.

Nevermind.

First this thread was not started by me but by Bastiaan from Tone2.

Second, remember that i'm just a Beta tsster and it's not up to me to decide what could be revealed and what not. I also got no instructions so far so all i already told is maybe already too much. If Bastiann or Markus allow to tell more (or maybe Bastiaan will do himself) it's OK. Like already mentioned details will be posted soon enough.

So am I and I must say that making sounds with Nemesis is easier that with any other FM synth I have tried.
I agree. ;)

There is a psychoacoustic option for the output (with a few others modes), if this is the same as the one in the prior synths, then yes.

I feel like in wonderland making sounds with this synth.
If i have permission from Bastiaan i could post some examples in MP3.

Have a nice day :)

Beta testers as socket puppets is sad to see.

Lens flare and floating MIDI keys look very amateur.

Waiting to audio demos... fail for now!

Working on the factory presets as well. Nemesis is one of the most interesting synths I've ever tried under a lot of aspects. Soundwise is simply fantastic :D

Post

Still under NDA, so i removed the demo i just posted.
Not allowed to post demos at the moment.
