Okay cool, I think I get that. I will give the Music2bus a go then. Is it a decent app? Are there any better ones that do the job, or that perhaps may have a volume control as well?

I went to the developers website and it does not fill me with confidence. The app needs to be rock solid as it is for using in live gigs.

By the way, thanks heaps for taking the time to help out here. It is much appreciated :)

Happy to help. I can't vouch for music2bus, the first time I even heard of it was in this thread.
I think there are other apps that could work for that too, such as Audioshare ( which is a great app and handy for all kinds of things).
Not sure if it can play mp3s right from a library, or if you'd have to load them in some other way, but worth checking out.

Okay, I will check that one out :)

Cheers

Just buy a separate mp3 player for the task of the backing..?
Takes all the worry out i reckon ;-)

Yeah I am starting to seriously consider it. I do have an iPhone as well so I could use that, but then extra cables blah de blah - however ultimately it might end up being the best option - or an iPad Mini :D

You could always get a few grand pianos and a bunch of electric pianos to take round with you......
