Does anyone know if there is a software mixer app for iPad?
I own IK Multimedia iGRand Piano and iLectric, plus I also use backing tracks (MP3) - I need an app that can allow me to mix all the signals to achieve a balanced output via the iPad audio out jack. At the moment it is really hard to get the volume level of the MP3s set for the piano apps as the volume control on the iPad affects ALL the audio!!
I looked at the AudioBus website, but it is unclear if it will allow you to create a mix for output - just like a mixing desk.
Thanks

DAW apps like BM2, Auria, CB via audiobus may do the task but it sounds pretty heavy for an iPad...iPad5 maybe
For the task if I were you I'd have a small external mixer and extra ipod.

You could try musictobus from Bismarc which will play your iTunes library into Audiobus
It doesn't have a volume control but it does have a built in equaliser.
Ilectric piano has a volume control so you could set that to match

Multitrack DAW by Harmonic Dog runs very efficiently on most pads and pods n' phones. Does not have automation or midi currently. Great reverb and compression though.

Ahhh - well the original post above had Bismarc and Musictobus
I am aware how pedantic one needs to be with app names, so I assumed it was the correct spelling.
Thanks for the links, but it does not really do much for what I need to do. Which is to simply combine/mix/bakance three audio streams - iGrand Piano, iLectric Piano and the iPad Music Player - and have it then sent out the audio out jack. And as AudioBus cannot include the iPad Music Player as a stream (only the iPad microphone) it is not really useful either.
Cheers

It has already been explained how to do exactly what you are asking for, though you will have to set the levels separately in each app. Audiobus will host the 2 piano apps and music2bus.
Hopefully your iPad is up to the task, I don't have those IK apps so not sure how hungry they are....

So what you are saying is I also need Music2Bus as the output stage in Audiobus?
I have an ipad 3. It seems to be handling the tasks okay, although only one piano app is being used at any one time. I have them receiving on different MIDI channels from my controller keyboard, so while one is being played the other, is not even though it is still "active".
I am running Unrealbook with the linked MP3 backing tracks, the two pianos and obviously the iPad musicplayer at the moment with no probs. I can even run the piano apps in Ultra Low latency.

No, music2bus will be an input, along with the 2 piano apps.

I guess I can always go back to the desktop and using MP3Gain, drop the levels of the MP3s, but there is no flexibility in this. However it would be a work-around I suppose
as there is no way to independently adjust the volumes of music player and the apps separately. I can set the piano apps volumes to avoid the samples pushing into distortion, but then the iPad Musicplayer is too loud, turn down the volume of the music player and this also turns down the volume of the piano apps even further...and on it goes

Your mp3s.miden wrote:okay, but what is going IN to Music2bus?
It's a music player.
The Audiobus terminology can be kind of confusing. AB "inputs" are going IN to your signal chain-at the beginning of the chain. ILectric will be an input as well.
