To stay in the U-he portfolio: Not all have this issue, the free Tyrell for example don't have this problem.
FWIW If i use Charlatan with original GUI i don't have the issue in FL but with another skin i have.

Did u think about using Transport knobs on ur MIDI controller if u have one?_al_ wrote:well this is an issue, thats been annoying me for a very long time. in fact i didnt update zebra in over a year or two, simply because of this problem.
so here's how it went for me:
zebra used to work fine. i could load it into fl studio, and use the mouse wheel to scroll-change the synth knobs, and could also push the spacebar to start and stop the song.
then steinberg released an updated version of the vst structure, or platform whatever its called.i think it went from vst 2.3 to 2.4. then when urs updated zebra with that new updated vst structure, the synth was suddenly a nightmare for me to use. spacebar no longer worked in fl, unless i stopped the synth getting keyboard focus. but when i did that, i was no longer able to use the mouse wheel to scroll/change the synth knobs.
and thats the annoying situation im stuck with atm.
plenty of other synths using the new vst structure work fine, but dim pro is another one that got updated when the new vst thing came out, and that also behaves like zebra, so there is something in common with dim pro and zebra, that other synths dont have a problem with.

Yes it is.#rob wrote:That's not a u-he problem
How about if you learn how to code / stop making excuses.#rob wrote: Unfortunately, there's not really anything we can do against that.
There are or were quite many developers, who's plugins steal the space in FL Studio. I have personally contacted some of those and ask'd them to fix their plugins. Kv331'crashmaster, U-he's plugins and melda plungins are the only ones, who literally told me that "we cant fix it".
Well, Fabfilter plugins used to steal space in FL Studio. I ask them to fix it, they told me that they look into it and soon they updated ALL their plugins and the problems was fixed. No more space bar stealing in FL.
So, fix your plugins and stop making excuses. If you dont know what to do, ask help on Fabfilter.

When you say you have contacted some developers, and that those ones were the only ones that said they couldn't fix it, you imply that you have contacted a whole bunch of developers. I'm willing to bet this is dishonest. Especially given that you only mention one dev (Fabfilter) who did fix it. Most devs don't have time to immediately get up and fix problems like this during their often busy schedules. There are many plugins that do this for me, it's not especially uncommon.keel wrote:Yes it is.#rob wrote:That's not a u-he problem

If this was some huge problem that everyone went to as a way to insult u-he plugins you'd probably have a point. As it stands I own tons of plugins that do this and I don't know enough about developing this kind of software to ignorantly say "learn how to code" as a way to fix it.
This stuff is complicated and nooks/crannies are plentiful.

We can certainly write another exception for yet another host. We're just not happy about it and workarounds for esoteric host behaviors run under lowest possible priority. Because sometimes we need a week to fix a flaw inflicted by a single host.keel wrote:So, fix your plugins and stop making excuses. If you dont know what to do, ask help on Fabfilter.
I'm also sure that "fixing it" means less chances to ever get keyboard input in Sonar and some other hosts that are notoriously greedy. So more workarounds on top of layers of other workarounds. The more workarounds we have, the less stable the system is gonna be as a whole. Not good.
I just think host developers should abide to a certain set of rules, and if a rule isn't set in the reference literature of a plug-in format, it's certainly set in the literature of an operating system. And that's what we do, our whole UI is built upon reference code of Microsoft.
Also, sandboxing (aka bridging) plug-ins is nice, but no plug-in fomat was designed for this. #FAIL

geez lotta drama in this thread. Funny thing is is that i tried not bridging the u-he plugins in FL and now that they're not bridged they no longer steal the space bar. Thank u to who suggested that!!!!!!!!!!!!
