Gee whiz, it took "Mr. Moral Majority" just a few posts to invalidate his entire position. What a surprise...
I am not your rabi or priest and I will not sit idle so you can abuse me with personal attacks.

Please continue your valuable contributions to this thread.

Can we derail this thread yet?

My position is entirely validated so far by your post. Instead of offering anything constructive
you offer insults and ad hominems. In short you start a new hate sub-thread with me as target, you
highjak the thread and divert the discussion to a personal fight.

Question: do you have anything to say to the world about the thread topic, aside from your opinions of
my motives or me personally?

For example you could say: "I do not believe that this is a valid topic because..." (add your stuff where the
dots are).

Thank you.

derail in full bloom. Doing my best to get it back to the topic, but could use some
help.

There's nothing personal about this as I don't know you. Your opening post contained heaps of abuse aimed at devs and forum users, which you tried to hide behind a not very convincing veil of mock humility (quote "The language i use is in the tradition of comedic satire. No intend to offend or hurt anyone's feelings") and supposedly noble ambition. So riddle me this: how can there can be "valuable contributions to this thread", when the thread was bogus right from the get-go?

But lo! I just thought of a valuable contribution nonetheless (it's not very original): if you don't agree with a poster or find his/her post offensive/irrelevant/useless, then just don't reply to it, and watch it die away into nothingness. Works like a charm. Go ahead, try it out right now.

Whether you like it or not there are reasons for inquiry here.

What was your purpose in writing your OP? Was it to derive some personal rapport? What?

Ok. If you believe that the post abused devs, then say so and restate it so that it does not
abuse them. Telling me that the humility is a mock one is an attack to me. The absurdity of the statement resides in that you cannot possibly know what kind of humility it is unless you are in my mind, which I assure you, you are not.

Moreover I do not need to be humble. I can make a thread while being arrogant, humble
or in between. The thread is not to discuss me though. Your attacking me because I do not
meet your personal standard of humility is as absurd as irrelevant.

Third, I can start humble and get really pissed and fight back if some anonymous bully attacks me personally. My right to do so. It is also an obligation so that I can take back the thread from
the hijackers.

Last, I am happy to riddle you thus: your question is premised one an unproven statement,
i.e., that the thread is bogus. Prove that the thread is bogus, then ask the riddle again.

Happy to answer. I am tired of the noise. I come here to learn and be educated and most threads compose 90% of haters or fanboys. Threads get derailed with religious adulation or nazi-level hate
for no apparent reason, within minutes.

I wish to believe that reasonable people can discuss and find workable solutions to increase the signal to noise ratio. Not me, all reasonable people, who can solve problems and are willing to offer solutions.
The thread is an invitation to such a discussion. If it offended it you, it was not the intension as I made clear. If you wish to restate the questions in ways that suit you better be my guest. If you believe
it is not worth discussing fine. If you wish to attack me, I am not letting you.

Welcome to KVR! I'm sure you'll fit right in.

Oh, and another piece of advice (which shall be ignored just as the first one was ignored: "don't take yourself so seriously, especially on the internet").

Right, so I'll be "constructive" here. I think your point of view is not really constructive. Humans will be humans, no matter how much you like to grind your teeth at it. We get enthused by this, disappointed by that, mad at this, all huggy-lovey at that, all according to our genes, experiences, eye colour, sexual preference and sock length. It's a fact of life. I go about it like this: I never EVER trust what a person says until I feel like I know where that person is coming from. Having spent some time here, I "know" a few people and their personal likes/dislikes. F.e., I trust (Rolling Stone's) Peter Travers' movie reviews almost implicitly, because I've been reading him for about 25 years and our tastes match to about 90%. Within KVR, I know that certain members like this synth, dislike that synth, hate dildos (er, dongles), wax enthusiastic about every new gadget, incite riots in threads just for the hell of it, know what they're talking about vs. fake it for the hell of it...

So, essentially, I don't share your problem. I find the community at KVR to be constructive, helpful, engaging, humorous, competitive, gloriously irrational, and above all entertaining. I don't see the need to change anything.

No progress was ever made on that premise unfortunately.
