Thank you again. Very useful links.

My Diva was installed only as VST3 so there were no NKS options, but I installed the VST2 version and converted all my presets to NKS. (VST3 version still works fine).

I didn't realize that Komplete Kontrol can't work with VST3. But they will follow I think, VST2 is history in 2020.
I leave it as it is - NI's stuff and VST2 will be managed in Komplete Kontrol and the minority of not detected instruments are managed as track templates in the DAW.

Currently I played again with the idea of converting my 3rd party Zebra presets to NKS.
Of course it can convert, but with no tagging. At this point, i don't need the sound previews, i only want to find the presets in the komplete kontrol browser.
I understand, that sophisticated autotagging would be difficult,
but I would only need a dumb simple tagging with 2 information:
Bank and sub bank.
For example here's a 3rd party preset called 'Arp - Detuned' from 'Plugmon Quick EDM v2' bank, from the 'Arps' subbank.
I'd like to see this in Komplete Kontrol:
I can choose bankname: 'Plugmon Quick EDM v2'
Then I can Choose subbank: 'Arps'
then I can choose one preset from the result list.

As far as I assume, to reach this state:
- I should batch convert my chosen files (all files from one specific subbank)
- then I should batch - tag them (if it's possible) in Komplete Kontrol (batch tag to the specific bank and sub bank

Am I right?

(I saw this bank and sub-bank stuff in freelance soundlabs 'synthmaster everything bundle' nks presets)

Any tags you create in Zebra are converted into Komplete Kontrol tags so I tend to tag in Zebra then convert to NKS as I like Zebra's drag and drop approach to tagging plus then it means they are tagged in Zebra and Komplete Kontrol. Banknames are another matter, u-he's NKS export function doesn't export patches with a bank/sub bank name so they all end up in user with tags but not organised by bank, I keep bringing this up periodically but it's still not an option. There is a third party tool that can do that:

viewtopic.php?t=514425

and companies/people that have access to the NKS SDK like Freelance can also do it in Komplete Kontrol or Maschine but really I think it needs to be possible using NKS export. I suppose one might argue do you really need bank names if you have sophisticated tagging and patch creator name embedded anyway but I still find it useful to know where a particular patch came from and Komplete's Bank/sub bank menu makes it easy to keep patches organised.

We have a "secret" bank export option, which atm is merely a workaround. There's a new concept emerging for this, but I'm not sure how fast / soon we can get this out.

That would be cool

thanks for the useful idea. Then I will tag in zebra, then save as nks, then I can list them in komplete kontrol. ahh, i should also do this with my 3rd party imposcar presets.
back to zebra: it's a bit weird to call the 'not factory' presets from the u-he website 3rd party presets (coz u-he sells them), so it would be cool if these presets also could receive nks.

Tagging a soundset thoroughly takes like... forever. Our team is slowly making its way through firstly factory sets, then soundsets we sell.

In the meantime a tried to tag/convert some presets just to see it's working.
In Zebra I dropped many bass presets to the category tag 'Bass' SO in zebra these received the bass category. Then converted these to nksf, and then moved them to a specific folder, and in komplete kontrol I added this library as a user library. Then made a rescan.
Then I restarted Reaper, opened komplete kontrol software, and saw these patches but they are not in the 'bass' type so my tagging in zebra hasn't came through. The same can be seen in my komplete kontrol keyboard.
So unfortunately, my first guess was right - I have to tag in Komplete Kontrol, if I want the Komplete Kontrol tagging. Zebra tagging is superb, but they don't go through when I use 'convert to nksf'.
To sum things up: I don't want u-he to spend their time with preset tagging, I'm satisfied with the current states of all of their software. So it's OK for me, that currently only the factory presets are NKS. I mainly want to use komplete kontrol to find mainly NI sounds (and some other devs sounds) in my computer faster.
In a project I think I rather use directly the plugins, and don't want to insert another layer (komplete kontrol software) to make things more complicated.

Tagging only a main category without a subcategory will not give you any NKS tags, the translation needs a subcategory. Add a subcategory to your preset first, then convert, then you'll find the NKS preset via the NKS tags.

Thanks for the quick feedback.
Ahaa, you are right.
This was not trivial for me,
because I only used this branch for tagging:
Tags/ Categories/Bass/Bass

But as I used this in Zebra:
Tags/ Categories/Bass/Analogue
after conversion this was just in the right place in Komplete Kontrol.

It's tricky becasuse
Tags/ Categories/Bass/Bass
and
Tags/ Categories/Bass/Analogue
are on the same layer and I thought that is a subcategory :)

Thanks for helping! :)

Yes it does work, I have tagged many u-he libraries and imported them into Komplete Kontrol for several u-he plugins. This way you get equivelent tags in both browsers instead of just KK.

True!
A bit of a compromise, because we had to find a way to make searching for "main category only" possible, as some of our users prefer to not use the subcategories, so the main category word is doubled in the subcategory row to enable that search.
