No surprises there. Well, aside from pop music losing popularity.
My solo projects:
Hekkräiser (experimental) | MFG38 (electronic/soundtrack) | The Santtu Pesonen Project (metal/prog)

i remember when people thought music meant something
music increasingly has less to offer, less cultural innovation. gone are the days of anticipating a new rock n roll band that really has something to say, eh?
the messages ultimately devolve to bullshit and consumerism, the same as everything else, and eventually music becomes the implicit dildo of destructive cultural and personal behaviours that must be shed, the statement we see in trap music.
it used to be something sacred, before it was mandatory accompaniment for every conscious moment. it's like people who don't reserve talking for when you have something to say. you put music with all the shit, synonymous.

you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Yeah that seems true eh? Usually, someone so disgusted by the current scene will try do something about it and succeed. Wasn't Kurt Cobain the last one that did that? It's supposed to happen every 10 years but I guess it hasn't happened for 20 years now?xoxos wrote:

Edit: corrected faulty spelling "supossed". Dizzy from insomnia.

You guys are just late to the party...I remember nirvana. :} Yeah, before that there was a reason they called it counter culture. People hated on us. threw shit on us, beat us up...Suddenly the counter culture became popular culture. we could make the record companies money. A paradigm shift. We have been making synthesized "4 on floor" since the late 80's. That's almost 40 f**king years of the same round and round. It reaches a certain threshold of popularity right about the time the smart and talented ones move on. Everyone else is just imitating.
I think music is about to get really good again...thank the Lord. There are some actual young musicians out there that realize that music is more than looped samples. It comes with a caveat...economy's have to be good enough for people to follow their interest. When times are bad they don't have time or ability to follow their creative interests.
