So with a bit of unluck, drop in sales, they could go bankrupt, and Reason will cease?chk071 wrote:PH is not Google, Apple of Microsoft. They're a small company. I think i read that they have 30 employees. il:
So this Reason talk forum is ruled by Propellerheads after all

Don't know if it's anything to go by, but according to LinkedIn they are in the bracket of 51-200 employees (same as Ableton).chk071 wrote:Yeah. Actually the sheer thought that somone on that forum could be employed by PH is a bit humorous, considering the yearly volume of sales of the company. I mean, come on... PH is not Google, Apple of Microsoft. They're a small company. I think i read that they have 30 employees. 30. That's a average company in my small town. And even for big companies like Google, it's pretty unlikely that they hired a horde of internet sockpuppets to cheer folks up. People on the net are not THAT important after all. And they surely don't represent the average of product users. The average of product users sit in their studio doing this:not this:
or this:
For reference, both Image-Line and Bitwig are listed as having 11-50 employees.

It could, but then, why this pessimism?Numanoid wrote:So with a bit of unluck, drop in sales, they could go bankrupt, and Reason will cease?chk071 wrote:PH is not Google, Apple of Microsoft. They're a small company. I think i read that they have 30 employees. il:

There's word about 50+ employees here: https://www.propellerheads.se/employmentloungepanda wrote:Don't know if it's anything to go by, but according to LinkedIn they are in the bracket of 51-200 employees (same as Ableton).chk071 wrote:Yeah. Thought i had read 30 employees once, but it could be that that info is deprecated now. I guess though that when they talk of 50+ that the actual number is closer to 50 than it is to 200.Working towards this vision is a team of 50+ developers, designers, creatives and more.

You will laugh, but all this has been discussed here already, inlcuding the links to sales, and sales volume figures. To summarize, PH is a healthy company, and doesn't run into danger of having to cease their products tomorrow. Don't worry, be happy.Numanoid wrote:I'm just a realist exploring options OKtrimph1 wrote:It could, but then, why this pessimism?Numanoid wrote:So with a bit of unluck, drop in sales, they could go bankrupt, and Reason will cease?chk071 wrote:PH is not Google, Apple of Microsoft. Oh, and don't forget to check your other hundred plugins and DAW's too, the respective companies might cease their products too at some point. Or sell to Apple *hint hint*.

Well, many a company was healthy yesterday, it is tomorrow that matters
I just passed by their office the other week on Södermalm and their plaque was still on the wall, so that is of course a good sign

So far I have resisted the urge of ringing their bell to blag freebies, but one of these days I tell you I shall do ittrimph1 wrote:Are you sure? It could be an empty shell you know...
And should it be empty, would be a nice squat close to the subway, and all the action down on Hornstull

So basically, Propellerhead should dramatically improve Reason to the same degree that Presonus did for Studio One v2/3? Fair point taken and one that wouldn't cause any controversy whatsoever on Reasontalk if communicated that way. Forum drama is almost always fueled by "tone of voice" and confrontational, abrasive attitudes. Moderators aren't government officials and it's not democratic, so if they deem posts or threads are dragging down harmonious communication, then they have every right to delete them. When joining any forum we agree to their rules.Bereket wrote:presonus studio one version 2 to 3 upgrade was like a new DAW most of the instruments was upgraded and pointed out instead of asking i.e Mclass or Malstrom or Combinator to be upgraded why not like studio one 3 upgrades all new level. I hope you got what I mean now Theo.

Where does all this Reason hate from? Is it because it's uncrackable? Or is it because it's a closed system?

Probably more a closed system. A lot of the complaints center around the lack of VST support.Alex Cremers wrote:Where does all this Reason hate from? Is it because it's uncrackable? Or is it because it's a closed system?
IMHO.

I guess it also has to do with the kind of attitude which is prominent with other DAW's or plugins too... if you can't come up with something good, blame the tools you use. I must admit though that for me as a synth freak, what Reason offers in that department, Thor, Subtractor, Maelstrom, isn't really the most top notch stuff, and lacks some basic features i would expect from a modern soft synth plugin these days. For example unison on oscillator level with stereo spread, so you don't have to jump through hoops to get real stereo unison, like on Thor, or phase retriggering, and setting. Also i wonder why some stuff is so necessarily difficult to achieve, like creating a ping pong delay (and it doesn't even work the way it should if you did it that way...), or that instead of having eq settings in the delay itself, you have to chain a EQ behind it. I can imagine that for people who really know what they're doing, Reason is creative heaven with all the routing options, and abilities to create your own instruments with combinators, but frankly, most of the time i feel a bit lost inside it and the GUI. Version 2.5 used to be so easy to understand.
