Cheers and Thanks !

a guess: they will use the 'best' options as an input to a tuned reverb alghoritmn? a cloud reverb?Krakatau wrote:I assume you may create a commercial version with some more parameters for adjustment purposes in the future, right ?
...because as far as i can see, it all it needs to become a complete product in itself !

Code: Select all
In other words: Protoverb is a data mining concept. Instead of spending a few months ourselves, we hope that our community will come up with great settings. As a reward, this plug-in is free, people are encouraged to share their settings and thoughts on the internet, and at some point we'll draw some prizes (details to be announced in January 2016) from the submissions (we'll always draw the first entry of equal submissions, so you can share without fear!)My soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/waltercruz

Nice! Thank you Urs...
BTW, does this thing eat up much CPU? I'm on my way with a not-so-fresh L412 with a 6 years old Core i5
Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year!
Cheers from Berlin,
Stephan

Wondering the same thing, the description reads exactly like how I remembered about ZRev description (in the manual?) somewhere. Haven't opened it a long time thoughaboukirev wrote:Is this ZRev disguised behind a different UI?

It's a bit different, but a similar idea.softska wrote:Wondering the same thing, the description reads exactly like how I remembered about ZRev description (in the manual?) somewhere. Haven't opened it a long time thoughaboukirev wrote:Is this ZRev disguised behind a different UI?
ZRev is based on the good old Moorer and Schroeder reverb designs (allpass filters to smear the signal with comb filters to create a tail). Protoverb is based on a large array of delays organized in so-called Feedback Delay Networks. The difficulty of ZRev was to create non-metallic settings. The difficulty in Protoverb is to create rooms that are wide, yet not too scattered with a hint of early reflections.

Yes, it's considerably more than a traditional reverb. But that's also because it's very flexible inside. We hope that over time we can omit some of that flexibility in favour of more specific, "good sounding" rules - whioch might improve CPU.ganym3d wrote:BTW, does this thing eat up much CPU?

Great tool, love the sound!
When I tried to upload my first preset, the website told me in a popup I couldn't enter non-latin characters. I definitely had none in there.
At the end I had to delete my comment. This is using Vivaldi Browser (latest snapshot) x64 on Windows 8.1 x64.
Thanks, Happy Holidays and Cheers,
Tom
