How do you make sure that the volume levels change smoothly in multi-sample drum pads? Do I need to do anything to the waveforms? Or is it just a lot of trial and error setting the velocities?
just record 2 , 3 or 4 hits with different strenght

you decide by ear the useful dynamic range
depending on the kind of kit you wanna make

That's what I was asking about. If I have three or four snare samples that go from ghost note to fuckin' hard, how do I make sure that boundaries aren't gimped? Like velocity=56 being quieter than velocity=55? Just fiddle with it until it sounds right? I hope it ends up being easy to do...

Actually, according to the wording of the contest, I won't be making the patches anyways! I just need to provide the samples. :)

But I think I already own everything that Dash and NUSofting make... :?

exactly!

what you mean by that?, <grin>

I mean the bonus coupons are for things that I already have. I guess I could wait and use them when the next thing comes out, but I'm not known for my patience!

BTW, I just went to the local music shop and ordered an SM57! :) Maybe tonight I'll start setting up some soundproofing...

Post

that's good, pough

about bonuses, with 4 of them (the max you can get)
you'd get two plugins from free

and I'll release more than two new ones before the end of the contest, LOL

Post

Actually, I'd be more than happy to do this regardless. I've been meaning to do some drum sampling for a while now and this is good incentive. :)

Post

good news!

we can add random selection of samples on play,

as option each pad could play one of four samples randomly on in rotation

Post

Are those pads still multiple velocities, or do you have to choose between velocity layers or sample switching?

Post

I would do it as alternative to velocity layers,
for the architecture of this plugin that seems easier to set up and to use,

so you would have to choose per pad

Why not have an option for a pad to trigger other pads at random? DR-008 has something like this called DDAlternator, but it cycles through four pads - not at random. If you had something like this, you could do random as well as multi-layer! :)

Post

mm... looks like a good idea, if it's possible in our code I'll do that,
