How can I set default gui for all plugins at once?

Sorry but I'm still none the wiser as to how to set it for all. As you say the wizard may do it but it's too useless for me to use it as it doesn't even show the styles I want to use.

If you change a style it is no longer default.aMUSEd wrote:I don't want them to return to the original style, I want them all the use the style I madeMeldaProduction wrote:It is in the thread - ctrl/cmd + click on the Default style
The style wizard will only change the style for all plugins that are default.
Therefore you must first return all plugins to default style then run the style wizard.
If your style is not appearing in the style wizard then look at darkstar's screenshot in this thread it explain how to.

There's clearly been a lack of understanding of what is meant by 'default' from the first post onwards. The OP and myself are asking how to set a style as the default for all plugins at once, not return the plugins to the factory default. Those are 2 different things entirely.jmg8 wrote:If you change a style it is no longer default.aMUSEd wrote:I don't want them to return to the original style, I want them all the use the style I madeMeldaProduction wrote:It is in the thread - ctrl/cmd + click on the Default style

I can't follow Darkstar's screenshot - too much hassle - this should just be a case of clicking on a setting to make the current style the default for all plugins.

I understand. My previous post explains it in as few words as possible. Just keep reading it until you understand. There isn't a way to do what you want in the way you have described, but you can do it this way instead.

No I can't because the style wizard only works with a limited set of preset styles.

The 4th line of my comment explain this.aMUSEd wrote:No I can't because the style wizard only works with a limited set of preset styles.
You have to replace the first 8 styles in the styles presets with your styles and then the wizard will show them. Follow Darkstar's screenshot.

And as I said already, I think having to do that is a laborious (and from subsequent posts, also flawed) workaround for something that really needs addressing properly as an option (ie to set current style as default).

The style wizard is officially dead, RIP
, and the next version will have just the style editor, plus a button to set current style to all plugins. However again note that you need to use ctrl/cmd + Default style to clear the settings from all plugins and the colors will still follow the default settings, where the color is defined by plugin type.

Fantastic - just what was needed. Thanks a lot
What do you mean colour set by plugin type though? Can't colour be part of a style too?

Not really. Currently when you select a style and editor mode (buttons, knobs...) and set it to all plugins, they take it as default. But I like the convention that whichever style you choose, the plugins will still respect the color, which lets you easily tell what each plugin does. E.g. all equalizers are green, so if you open a green plugin, you know that it's an eq
. Several competition plugins have all the same colors and it's horrible, it's like a madness of sameness
.

Don't like green plugins though - I prefer them all dark or grey

I was like that too!
But then I started loving colors, it makes my life so much brighter
. Well, it's easy enough to set them up to grey via presets, but still, try the colors, it's proven that colors inspire, true story!
