Using Patchwork Standalone, on trying to load a wav file into Regroover, the plugin issues an error message "you must stop all playback before importing a new audio clip".
Patchwork is indeed "always on", and there is not transport control on it (yet) since it has no timeline. Maybe you can try to change the audio settings to select no audio interface and see if it helps, but I am not sure.
Your "(yet)" leads me, sorry, to the question, what your plans for patchwork are, which, of course, you can't answer ;) I've got sooo many feature requests, ideas... ;)
Blue Cat Audio wrote:For the Maschine crash, we are trying to get a hold on NI to get the software and do some testing internally. It is probably an issue with side chain and multiple channels support. BTW have you tried the Synth version of Patchwork? It was reported to work fine, as opposed to the effect version.
The VSTi does indeed not crash. But, unless I'm missing something, how do I send audio (and sidechain) to the VSTi then?

- loading time: have you tried disabling undo tracking on the plug-in slot before loading the plug-in? With some plug-ins it can slow down quite a bit, if they poorly report parameters changes.
No measurable difference
Blue Cat Audio wrote:- Are you running Bitwig in 32 or 64-bit mode? (Even in 64-bit mode, you may need to make sure you have not loaded a bridged 32-bit PatchWork, I remember seeing similar issues in such cases). Also, does closing and reloading the plug-in help?
No bridging at work in this example.

Closing/reopening HALions UI only restores the plugins window size to its minimum.

So, congrats for the release of Destructor.

Any news on some of these issues, too?

Post

Thanks! For the issues, we are currently waiting for feedback from NI & Steinberg. It will hopefully not take too long.

Post

Just a quick update for the Maschine crash: it appears to be a problem on the Maschine side, not providing enough audio buffers to the plug-in. We are in touch with NI to see how they can solve this issue. It only affects PatchWork.

Post

We are still waiting for Steinberg to be able to inquire the Halion issue, but a new preview has been uploaded with several changes regarding window resizing on Mac, so maybe it changes something for this problem. Do you mind checking it out? It is available from the same page as the original full version (link received by email upon purchased). Just click on the "Next Release preview" link to get it.

Post

Will try this evening, hopefully.

Thanks for the feedback!

Nope, sorry, same behavior.

Ultra long instantiation duration and resize issues...

Hi! I'm trying the demo for the PatchWork.

One question I have: Suppose I'm working with a synth which doesn't have a good preset manager inside like Feldspar.
I created some presets for it but they are in .fxp format.
How can I load those fxp presets in the instances inside PatchWork?

Just got the licence for HALion. The VST3 version indeed behaves strangely and is completely unusable - We'll have to investigate but it may take time.

However the AU version works fine(!). Have you had a chance to try it?

PatchWork currently does not include the ability to load presets that are specific to plug-in formats, but it may change in the future.

Erm, haven't tried, but:

The interesting thing about HALion is that only its VST3 version supports Cubases' Note Expression. Does PW VST3 support "Note Expression" so that HALion 5 via PW receives Cubases "Note Expression" data (as well as sending "Expression Maps" data etc.)?

I wanted to test this out, but wasn't able to, due to the UI issues...

Post

VST3 Note expression is specific to VST3, so for now it will not go thru Patchwork, that only supports the standard MIDI protocol.

Maschine 2.5.6 still crashing on instantiating Patchwork VSTfx

Any news about HALion?
