LoudnessAnalyzer meter controlling something?

I think their might be some misunderstanding here. I do not want to control something with the meter. At the moment I just want to know how this is supposed to work. The only situation I can think of is a MOD-Follower controlling the MP-Meter to give some kind of metering feedback of the icoming signal. Is this the only situation? Do I have a lack of creativity here?

Your thread is titled "....meter controlling something"Tagirijus wrote:I think their might be some misunderstanding here. I do not want to control something with the meter.
Can you see how this is confusing?
Lets say your creating an active preset (presets with MPs on the easy screen) for a compressor. It will have all the easy to use MPs arranged as you like, which is good to speed up workflow. But it doesn't give you any visual feedback. Well now we can turn a MP into a meter, like gain reduction and have it display on the easy screen.

Well. That's a very good point!jmg8 wrote:Your thread is titled "....meter controlling something"

Let's forget about that for now. I really might have titled this topic quite bad. Sorry for that!
I understand the idea behind the MP-meters. I still try to figure out how the MP can be controlled other than with a MOD. The gain reduction meter for example: how would you do that, if I may ask?jmg8 wrote: Lets say your creating an active preset (presets with MPs on the easy screen) for a compressor. There are 2 ways to assign a MP to a parameter. You can us the click and learn method or you can manually pick the parameter from a list. To attach the MP to a meter, you must use the second option. Open your MP and click the plus to add a parameter, in the list you should see some meters you can pick from. Then change the MP type to meter, name it and select f you want meter up/down horizontal etc. It should now be working on the easy screen.

Aaaand you have to change the behaviour of the MP - mind blown! Seriously. I totally have overlooked this feature, which was added in version 10. Wow. Just wow. I did know about the meter mode for the MP though, but totally missed the new behaviour mode for the MP ... stupid me.jmg8 wrote:There are 2 ways to assign a MP to a parameter. According to this new knowledge I have a question to Vojtech: is it that difficult to add the loudnes "meter outputs" to the "MP featureset" as well? At the moment the loudness module just offers in and out gain for meter linking.
Edit: forget about my question, Vojtech. Even if it would be possible, it would not be usable, since the meters are just "easy meters" without numbers. And it's not that important after all. Thanks you all for the fast replies though!
