Melda plug that lets the Mid get panned to both Sides?

I'm not sure why everyone is offering advice on how to separate the two tracks using various methods. When you have simply asked one thing.
You would like to move the MID content to the SIDE.
This is done by stereoizing the mono content.

...mmmmm....lots of confusion here, possibly because the curtain metaphor is visually clear but sonically vague...the piano is already full stereo so I don't see how "widening" it even more "opens" the mid channel for vocals...now I'm gonna hafta go try it
, my approach has always been to spectrally duck the offender to allow the good guy to shine...difu?

Ah, this seems very promising to me!jmg8 wrote:I'm not sure why everyone is offering advice on how to separate the two tracks using various methods. When you have simply asked one thing.

IBH I don't think what you're trying to do will work. You can move the mid signal to the sides and then lower the mids, but this will mess up your stereo image. It seems like you are concerned with that, so if that is the case, I think your idea is impossible.

I made you a preset. It moves the signal to the sides with no change to loudness and very little change to the frequencies (as you can see in the screen shots)
It obviously sounds very different when at 100% because it is changing the stereo image a lot. But if you use it around 50% it should sound good.
Hopefully you have MXXX, just copy the text and paste it into the plugin, that will load the preset for you, then you can name it and save it.

Good work -
- I added 2 MMultiAnalyzers into MXXX for the comparison.
But I must be doing something wrong - I am only able to move the audio (either mono or stereo) to the right.

jmg8 - You are a genius ... like an orchestra conductor with your plugs! I can also see from your 2nd graph that the final stereo sound won't null with the original since the L/R distributions are different (if I'm thinking of that correctly
!) I wonder what the L/R frequency distribution comparison would look like as well.
I don't have MXXX
, just MTransient, MAutoVolume, MCompare, MTurboComp, and MAuotDynamic EQ.
Ahh, I can demo MXXX ... on 2nd thought, perhaps not, as if I'm honest with myself I'm not ready to buy it yet. And I'll have used up the demo time for when I am ready to purchase it!
So close, yet so far!
Thank you so much again - I can see what the future holds.

Hi jmg8 - I've been thinking about your graphs during the day. As for the moment I am without MXXX, may I ask a few questions about your wonderful creation?
1) How did you decide what part of the Mid signal to pan Left, and what part to pan Right? Was it based on frequency (from X Hz and lower it is panned Left, and higher than X Hz is panned Right)?
2) I realize that at least for me it's not apparent how different it sounds than the original signal (I should probably be able to do that, but I'm not smart enough). Is there a real difference in how it sounds on stereo speakers?
3) And finally, in your opinion after listening to it - do you think it could be a good tool to clear out the middle for another instrument (like voice on piano)? Is there any distortion introduced?
Thanks again!
