Audio punch bug?

Messed around some more with the demo last night, and it's easy enough to just select the punch area, cut the piece out that you don't want, and then record the new part. And you could always do that cut and then record the new part on another track if there's a question about it cutting a piece of the clip before the punch (though I didn't notice that).

Nonetheless, the punch bug ("Ow!") should really be fixed, and hopefully with some kind of safety as described above. That would be 8)

This is my normal way now of handling this punch issue. So much of this program works in a nice intuitive way that a work around like this seems wrong somehow. But it does get us working now while the bugs are being worked out.

I remain hopeful that Jules will sort this out in version 2.

even better than a punch in warning or safety would be some countdown meter that counts down to the punch in point fairly visibly. That way you'd notice right away that you aren't actually going to record for the next 3 minutes :)

or you could just practice remembering to turn off punch-in ;)

That's not a bad idea, but I'm not sure it'd be better than just automatically disabling the punch-in once you switch to a different track.

Well yeah, you'd think so, right? But still... :-o

Did someone witnessed the fact that "replace" mode does not work in midi recording, and instead just works as a "merge new and old"?
