+1 This is where they should be. Right by the controls. I wonder if the Bitwig team has mixed anythingAlveek wrote:But I really wanted one thing: track names in the bottom of a track in mixer view.
What are you mostly excited about in the 2.0 feature set!?

For me it's probably the new modulators (list of them here) and the way to add them to everything.
The new devices look promising as well.

Oh, and I like watching all the animations--sometimes. Better than a fireplace. Okay, not really...

Maybe the crossfade will be the new feature I will use most. Depends if my composing habits change or not with this version. I use various DAWs, and I tend to use samples in Bitwig Studio more than in other packages.
But the one thing that really made my heart speed up was... an old feature actually.
While I was reading the announcement with delight, I raised a surprised eyebrow when I looked at the old devices being improved, then suddenly I stopped by the multiband FX picture, just to say to myself: "did I ever tried this device???" So I fired up BWS and slapped my face, yep, it is there since so many years: multiband FX for the masses. In fact I remember using it once, but I was not into mixing at that time so I moved away from it (just like the mid/side device). Funny how advertising BWS 2 brought me back to further dig into BWS 1.
Apart from that, the whole package looks exciting to me, because I feel BWS is getting where it should. Devs kept the things secret but things were moving, and somehow I feel relieved. Even if I seldom use MIDI and possess no hardware synth for example, I am happy to see improvements that hopefully will check some long awaited feature requests - even if my own requests won't be addressed in the 2.0
So I am already waiting for the "machine gun rate" updates in 2017...

EQ analyser and crossfades, ((I'm hoping that the crossfade has the ability to overlap 2 ( or more ) audio tracks and fade out/in , much like the way we can in e.g Ardour, I mean I want to be able to drag one sample slightly overlapping the other and have access to crossfade both of these. Also the new modulation madness looks perfect for sound design)).
Those modulation curves in the Organ instrument look pretty cool, I wonder how they actually operate ( can they be adjusted ? ) and WTF is this TreeMonster , sooo many goodies in this release ,just generally really excited about this release
Was hoping for at least native LADSPA support [ hey Renoise manages to do this for us Linux heads ]/ possible native LV2 ( LADSPA version2 ) support. <<< not a rant as there are workarounds , but it's always good to raise awareness

That's pretty interesting, I'll never noticed the multiband before... thanks for sharing! Great thoughts!pakunoda wrote:Maybe the crossfade will be the new feature I will use most. Fades/XFades it is for me.
I'm not sure if this counts as part of the 2.0 feature set, but I'm most excited about the announcement to churn out more and faster updates in the future.
