I like McDSP 6050, I find myself using it more and more because it sounds pretty good and it's using very few resources. It might not sound 1 to 1 with the original, but you still get pretty good results. In VMR you get 2 compressors, 2 EQs and a Trimmer, which sound pretty amazing so in the end you'd have to demo and see what works the best for you.

bx_digital a linear phase EQ that as far as I can tell is designed to be as clean and accurate as possible. It is not an analogue emulation and has none of that analogue vibe or colour. it's a nice EQ and associated tools of course yes. but it's not a colouration machine like 6050 is and to some degree VMR.realmarco wrote:go with BX_digital. So far its the Most adanced and feature ladden EQ plugin i've come acrossdjmino02 wrote:i tried the slate vmr and wasn't impressed really. i'd rather have an all in one plugin than a bunch of different modules. i also don't like the whole upgrade thing like IK multimedia has. i feel like they leave a lot to be desired so you'll buy more of their add-ons.
worthy mentions it also has what APi EQ have (sharper the bell the more u add gain)
its got a De-Esser and Dynamic EQ
and its got all the Mid side stuff, no need for MSEd at all
i also like that it has a 32 step undo with qhick slots for quiclky comparing EQ settings with one click intead of using a preset browser and slecting presets that are far from each other
