Thanx. Can't decide if it's too much or not right now... But I'll definitely wait for them to launch it first, and then wait for a bigger discount (they usually do 30%).Robmobius wrote:Yep! That's the toal (199e) with the measly 20% discount included.e@rs wrote:Didn't log in to my account yet... Just keeps re-enforcing how Logic Pro X is the most outstanding value major player in DAW world. Actually, I'm seeing the Bitwig plan making more and more sense as well.

Logic is amazingly good value for money...jacqueslacouth wrote:Just keeps re-enforcing how Logic Pro X is the most outstanding value major player in DAW world. Actually, I'm seeing the Bitwig plan making more and more sense as well.

There is not now, and never will be anything like Logic X in terms of price. It's in a league of its own...
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

Don't forget though that when Logic 11 comes out there won't be an upgrade path. It will be buy at full price as that's the Apple Store pricing model.

Logic 10 came out over 4 years ago and is at 10.3... so it could be 5+ years of significant upgrades before Logic 11 and the need to pay additional money...aMUSEd wrote:Don't forget though that when Logic 11 comes out there won't be an upgrade path. and the full price of Logic is still less than the upgrade price for Live...

Too expensive for me. So I'll be looking at selling my 9.7 Live Suite. Of course, it's now been devalued by the release of version 10.

I think a better question would be is there a Daw that asks for MORE than live does per Update? The Suite update of course.
FL is Free. Bitwig is 170$. Reason is 130$ Cubase has a system so that the price decreases for an upgrade the more recent your software is but the only time it will be the same price as Abletons Upgrade is if your upgrading from Cubase 4, 5, 6 or 6.5! By comaparison 6.5 was released in 2012.
Logic has been mentioned above.
I don't know... As mentioned above its important to factor in the improvements to Ableton Live during the cycle to decide if the money really is worth it..
Anyone care to throw other Daw Upgrade prices in? I'm genuinely curious...

I don't the frequency is relevant, just the amount of actual new stuff that you actually need vs. the cost of that stuff. There is nothing in Live 10 at all that I feel the need to upgrade for at that cost, maybe 10.5 as a free update will introduce something I actually needed/wanted- it certainly wasn't another wavetable synth! To others, maybe MAX fans or PUSH users, it may be a good one....Chapelle wrote:Some upgrade prices at Thomann:Spencer Maddox wrote:Anyone care to throw other Daw Upgrade prices in? Studio One Professional: €145
Digital Performer: €259
Samplitude Pro X3: €185
Nuendo: €260
Also had a look at Pro Tools, but their licensing model is too confusing to me.
But, as you said, it's all somewhat meaningless without taking the frequency of paid updates into account.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
