Unless you need it today, wait. It will most likely be on sale on BF and the sale price will most likely beat any current used offer.

The total bundle becomes cheaper the more plugins you already have, at least that's what I saw in my account. I could trade in the separate Soundtoy licenses I had and get a good discount on the total bundle. Black Friday is almost here so maybe Soundtoys will do something. Echoboy is the delay I use the most because it can do everything I would expect from a good delay. For more creative delays I use Tekturon, Relayer or Übermod.

Love echoboy, such a great delay.

One feature it is missing compared to fabfilter's timeless and logic's delay is cross feedback from left to right, and right to left.

Sounds good, lots of options but the GUI is dated, quite a bit.

I prefer Replika XT, it can go places echoboy can't (diffuse, pitch shifting) and it is easier to use.

Also speaking of the bundle I feel there are good alternatives to many of them, maybe microshift and tremolo are the most unique but also more specialized.

Half price sale on bundle for Black Friday + crossgrade for existing product ownership...say the free Little Plate plugin if you haven't nabbed it already :D
Wait, are you telling me that if I download Little Plate (I assume I'll have to register it with iLok) that I can get the whole package ($499) for half price?
I got all the little plugs a couple years back with a CSR/donation drive they had(donated about $40), and got the whole bundle on BF for about $160, and since then got Sie-Q, Little Plate, and Echoboy Jr. for free. If they have a "Big" plate in the pipeline, that will be free too probably. Soundtoys has a very simple pricing policy, and they reward their loyal customers. And if you get the bundle, you get the Soundtoys Rack too, which is quite fun.

As for Echoboy, a lot of other delays can do a lot more(function wise), but they don't sounds like Echoboy. Its delay models is what makes it unique. Personally think it's best suited for music from the 70s/80s, which most of the delay models are based on, and also any rock/metal/grunge/punk. And it has an 'expert' panel which is nice, and gives more flexibly but at the expense of a slight learning curve, but you can always just close that panel and work with the dumbed-down view.

Also don't think there is much overlap with the whole bundle with other stuff. It's the only whole bundle I own from any company, they tend to model unique/quirky things. Actually, Little Plate is their first "Me Too" plug-in - I didn't expect that, was hoping fro something more crazy like a Federal AM-864. Just to explain -> "Me Too" means all the hundreds if not thousands emulations of the "classics" like EMT140, 1176, LA2A, Fairchild 670, Neve 1073/1081 etc etc. That being said, the only stuff I do not use is PhaseMistress and FilterFreak, I don't like them that much, use the rest often.

That is far to polite. The Echoboy GUI is an impertinence! These fiddly thingies on a dark mess are highly absurd. Makes me want to slap the GUI developer a lot. Even worse is the fact they haven't changed this since years, as if they're proud of making their users staring at this crap like idiots.
Note: I have the bundle and like the sound quality of their products a lot.

I already had a huge range of delays (delays are my weakness) but kept seeing Echoboy mentioned in every "favorite delay" thread. Now it's become my standard delay, along with Echoboy Jnr for simple tasks. If I want something really special I'll use Replika XT but that one's not for everyday use. As for price, you need to be 'in the tent' with at least one product to get the best deal on the bundle. Like others here it's the only bundle I have but definitely worthwhile.

And yes, the black GUI is truly awful. With luck they'll revamp it with the Echoboy Jnr look.

how can a gui be dated? I figure if it worked last year how does it stop working this year?

^^ indeed.
It's functional and not overcrowded on the eye as a GUI, which is all I care about.

You must have a totally different idea about something beeing "functional".
Look at the Echoboy GUI on a higher DPI screen and you get additional difficulties.

Of course you don't as LittlePlate is free right now - but that is going to change...

Erm, no, the actual problem is with the sound. Contrary to what many think, it is NOT a tape or analog delay. It was not made to work like one. Ask Mr. Sean Costello or look up his posts on delays here. So with these models you are getting a 'somewhat', a 'thereabouts' analog or tape sound - but nothing like the real thing. It's very easy to mislead people - a frequency curve, some noise, a bit louder or softer levels - and they go 'wow! magic!'.

Echoboy is a must have...
But you should also take enough time to explore the different modes on different material.

However, i would wait until Black Friday and see if there are sales concerning the bundle.
That's really a bundle that offers tons of mojo.

No, I understand fully what the word 'functional' means.

Maybe you have difficulties with the GUI on your higher DPI screen, but on a regular laptop screen / monitor the GUI looks functional and not overcrowded.
As such, that is not an issue so much of the developers' choice of GUI design, which fits very well in typical screen setups, but more the result of your choice to use an atypical higher DPI screen.

It's hard for you to argue about someone having a 'totally different idea' when you are the atypical one!

To put it another way dreamvoid, what exactly do you find unfunctional about this?

Perhaps the issue is really less with definitions of 'functional' and more with your belief that everybody should jump through hoops to please you - or you'll be rude about them and threaten to slap them!

In dual mode there is a dedicated knob for dialing in cross feedback.
