Soundtoys Echoboy

I am going to be broke by the end of this year.
I listened to quite a bit of it and am quite impressed. I only have one question. How does it compare to Valhalla Uber Mod, which I do own and love? Is there a lot of overlap or are they quite different in sound and capabilities?
Naturally, I'm asking those who own both.

I think of them as very different beasts. I use UberMod (as much as I do use it which isn't that much) as a modulation processor. Chorus and vibrato effects.
I use Echoboy as a delay plugin. I think that the really good stuff in Echoboy is in the Style selection and Style Edit view. It's pretty stunning the variety of sounds you can get out of it.
Hell, I use it as a saturator all the time: Set feedback to zero, mix to 100%, time to 0ms, then choose from the Styles and user style from the saturation models and then maybe even good around with the wobble.
I like to run over bight source material (like Spitfire's LCO strings) through a setup like this where I choose the Memory Man style and a little wobble.
I'm not saying that there isn't more to Ubermod than I know about, though. I'm sure there is, but Echoboy is pretty supreme. I don't really touch any of the other Soundtoys plugins besides it. (And the new plate reverb, which is free right now and totally great, too.)

There is not a whole lot of overlap between the two, even though both of them (being both very flexible beasts) can make a lot of similar stuff as the other one - just not nearly as well.

ÜberMod is great for weird things and modulation.
Echoboy is my favorite delay and coloring box.

Wait, are you telling me that if I download Little Plate (I assume I'll have to register it with iLok) that I can get the whole package ($499) for half price?shonky wrote:Half price sale on bundle for Black Friday + crossgrade for existing product ownership...say the free Little Plate plugin if you haven't nabbed it alreadyCaine123 wrote:Wag. I picked up Tremolator and SieQ for free and I had the offer last Black Friday and in the recent promotion so it may well work for Little Plate too (and it's a hell of a nice freebie anyway). If you've got an iLok account, you should be goldenwagtunes wrote:Wait, are you telling me that if I download Little Plate (I assume I'll have to register it with iLok) that I can get the whole package ($499) for half price?shonky wrote:Half price sale on bundle for Black Friday + crossgrade for existing product ownership...say the free Little Plate plugin if you haven't nabbed it alreadyCaine123 wrote:Wag. Clarification: Soundtoys usually have a half price sale for BF, but you should also get a discount on the bundle for ownership of one of their plugs so it should be less than half price.

Okay, downloaded, registered and installed Little Plate but I don't see anywhere on their site where the whole package is discounted. So I'm going to assume that this offer isn't available yet and probably won't be until we get closer to Black Friday?

Nothing. All it says when I click on Upgrades is that Little Plate is included with all upgrades but I don't see any upgrade price or link to buy using an upgrade.shonky wrote:Log into your Soundtoys account and see if you've got a crossgrade offer on Little Plate to the full bundle.

Ok, it's not showing as an upgrade option in my account either. It might well be that it's not included while it's a freebie so might be worth checking back after the promotion has ended.
At the very least, you've now got a rather nice plate reverb for free

Yeah, but isn't there an iLok transfer fee?n9 wrote:someone is selling the full bundle for $200 in the classifieds.
