If you are using Waveform 9 there is a little file icon on the header of the clip, you can just drag that to another track, your file browser, your loop library, a sampler etc. It will tag the rendered file as an acid loop as well.

What are the rules for pitch? I set the loop to B but the rendered audio has the pitch as C. Does it ignore the clip settings and only save it with the key from the edit settings?

It uses the current key signature. It should probably use the root note if set, if not fall back to key signature.

Thank you! I agree that would make more send and be more useful. Having to change the key signature is awkward when you already have a root note set.
