Yeah, I'm looking into just getting a separate subscription for myself. This screen is too tiny, and I don't have admin rights. I want to put it on my home studio system. Most likely this weekend. Just need to work out a few things. That machine is offline which can be a bit of a pain for subs.

Just realized the LFO's appear to be MIDI trigger only unlike the other modes. BUMMER. Logic is a huge PITA for MIDI triggering. I've actually stopped using one my favorite plugs over it (ironically, the one that most resembles what I'm currently attempting here). Can't remember all the details off the top of my head, but I generally recall 2 ways to get the MIDI triggering working and each had some nasty side effects.

This general idea seems to be working, though, so thx. All I've done so far is get it synced and outputting squashed static so I can see it on a cyclic waveform display. Still need to work on integrating it with some other controls (and dig into the whole Logic MIDI trigger thing again.) :dog:

Thx again. Everything from your end is solid... I'm just not sure about the Logic MIDI trigger end of things at this point.

EDIT: For anyone who might follow the thread looking for a similar situation, I just wanted to mention that I did have one other idea which should at least work for some parameters which is to split the positive and negative portions of the envelope to two different modulators, then assign them to the same parameter in two different modules. If the parameter is something like output gain that is essentially passive unless engaged (just lets through untouched signal when set to 0), it should work. In cases like limiter ceiling that are essentially always active depending on threshold, I would assume that the complimentary parameter (threshold in this case) would also need to be automated since it's status can force the primary parameter (ceiling) to be active when the method described requires it to be passive (when that particular modulator should be disengaged).

Wanted to toss out for anyone stumbling upon this that by combining some suggestions from within this thread and elsewhere in the subforum, I was able to control the rebound behavior in the way I wanted, though I needed to do so in the Normal rather than Envelope sections.

I personally needed it to have flat peaks after the initial attack, but it should be relatively trivial to balance out in some other fashion.

Seems likely someone might find this easing type useful, so to contribute, here's the code.

Note: It's actually an instance of MXXX1 assigned to a random parameter, but should load in MXXX. Open Mod 1, and watch the preview as you move MP2 and MP4, and you should see a more natural easing type than the simple curve into a flat line, but with some basic intuitive controls to dial it in.

As far as I can tell, doing it this way REQUIRES midi (rather than audio) triggering, but thanks to some tips from @onerob, I've been able to work that out (finally!) in Logic.

Auto-generating something smooth is straight forward enough. I was just trying to have a specific type of control over the behavior.

Actually, I've already made some tweaks. I have no doubt I could get the damping (and overall decay) to be more accurate by using your dual modulator method, and adjusting the transformation curve of the one that ramps, but I've already got so many nested modulators going on in the current project that I wanted the simplest possible modular configuration that I could just plug and play into various setups. It's not perfect, but it's relatively simple and easy to use.
